well they were talking about ramming it or getting someone else to take them down, i'm just pointing out that given enough time, and an enemy team who cant be bothreed to defend their spec mine while a ng SB snipers down the shields, you can solo cap a giga spec mine /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I'm pretty sure Utl does more damage vs shield then sniper does

Again, only on Six Team Games™ where there's 100 sectors and four people a side.

Sniper 2 does 1/2 the damage per shot, shoots slightly more shots per second and uses 1/2 the energy of utl3 against lt station shield. It's a tossup really. definitely use sniper2 if you only have utl2.

or just get a scout that finds dis2 floating to help you out.

I like how you're correcting him on what weapon to use in what's probably the single most unlikely thing to ever happen in Allegiance.

And instead of getting a scout to help you out, get them to do something useful and get an accompanying stealth bomber /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Nah, an EMP int/TT run is far less likely /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

sorry, but i am right.

i have checked ICE

utl3 uses 2* the energy per shot than sniper 2

utl 3 does 6.5 dmg / shot
sniper does 3.75, but you get 2*the number of shots for your energy so that makes it 7.5 dmg
and sniper fires faster

both have a dmg multiplier of 1 vs lt base shield, but utl is 0.25 vs lt hull, sniper is 1 vs lt hull (doesnt matter since yor gonig to ng it anyway.

in conclusion, if you ever need to solo cap a giga spec ref with a ng sb, use sniper if you get the chance to select your loadout knowing thats what your gonig to do.

p.s. @rav, i believe that has been done

Oh I know it's been tried, hell RT tried it in a particularly desperate SG once (unsuccesfully naturally). I still suspect that NG SBs crop up a tad more often /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

yes, but a ng sb sitting next to a giga spec mine gunning down its shield for several mins, then capping it with its ng missile, and noone ripping in to defend?
