Luckily, just like notjarvis, I get a lot of helpful e-mail promising to mine bigger too

Some people *like* doing those things. Me, for example. My idea of a *great* game is one where I get to spend the whole game doing team-useful things in a scout._SRM_Nuke wrote:QUOTE (_SRM_Nuke @ Jun 8 2010, 04:57 AM) But that isn't the way Allegiance is. If all you cared about was fun, nobody would ever nan, probe, scout or command.
For some people it's not about the competition. The squad tournament games are a way to get in one game, almost every week, that's not subject to pug idiocy. Maps will be decent ones, settings will be reasonable, games will start mostly on time, noone will be spamming 20 voicechats in 10 seconds, attempting a mutiny every 2 minutes, or doing other things that require someone to bust out the enforcer, and in-game tactics are highly likely to involve something OTHER than a 4 hour capship whorefest._SRM_Nuke wrote:QUOTE (_SRM_Nuke @ Jun 8 2010, 04:57 AM) If you don't want to compete then don't sign your squad up for a competition.
It's *NOT* about winning. If it were just about winning, always winning, and only winning, RT would have disbanded like SPQR and DSM and probably done so within a year of being formed._SRM_Nuke wrote:QUOTE (_SRM_Nuke @ Jun 8 2010, 06:52 AM) So you agree winning is fun. NJ is arguing that it isn't about winning which seems a little ridiculous for something that is organized as a competition.
Yeah, just like commanding a team; you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him suck you off, much to certain people's apparent chagrin.Raveen wrote:QUOTE (Raveen @ Jun 8 2010, 08:13 AM) Leaders can only lead where the pilots are willing to follow.

Cable=UncleBuck?
As a person who has busted his ass to hold things together, along with most of my squad members, I agree with what you're saying. What I don't understand is the seemingly unprevoked thread that seems to be a "look at me, I rarely post but will now make an epic thread" kind of tactic.
i happen to think this is absolute horse@#(!. there is a difference between passive leadership and active leadership. People (should) have hats for a reasonRaveen wrote:QUOTE (Raveen @ Jun 8 2010, 06:13 AM) The base unit of the squad is the pilot, not the tokens. If the pilots fail the squad fails. Leaders can only lead where the pilots are willing to follow.

I can see how players would want to fly for those squads. I understand how cable is thinking.
