What's the point of that though? The shields won't have even charged any before you're getting shot at, and it makes it more difficult to vanish after an attack

DON'T LISTEN TO EM! STEALTH FIGHTERS ARE JUST INTERCEPTORS WITH MISSILES AND CLOAK!
A hero is not one who never falls, but one who gets up again and again, NEVER losing sight of one's dream!

It gives me an additional survival time of ten microseconds, maybe twenty. When i want to vanish after the attack I can simply put shield and missiles back in cargo.
I have a johnson photo in my profile since 2010.

Only time I even carry a shield on a stealth is if I'm also packing snipers and fully intend to whore.

FYI, shields don't absorb any damage when they're below 10%.

ss1 had 150 hp and recharge of 2. 9s after you finish mounting it (14s after you started shooting with utils) it's strong enough to absorb 1 point of damage.

If you haven't killed the miner in 14s and are trying to hide & escape, then you're doing something wrong.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

i only fly shields up SF when I'm looking for a challenge / being silly.

There is really no reason to fly with shields up in a SF unless your a Shiz quality pilot.

Flying a SF with shields up is like flying a scout with shields up: you're basically just begging to be killed.
