FYI, shields don't absorb any damage when they're below 10%.
ss1 had 150 hp and recharge of 2. 9s after you finish mounting it (14s after you started shooting with utils) it's strong enough to absorb 1 point of damage.
If you haven't killed the miner in 14s and are trying to hide & escape, then you're doing something wrong.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.
