Maybe it's a statistical aberration, but the all aleph drops I've joined recently were never met with prox or caltrops.
I would add gunships or corvs to the list of counters to TP2's. Not that I disagree with much of what OMB is saying.

Higher activation time will make it easier to shoot them down?
You need to drop mutliple tp2s to make sure the enemy can't kill all. -> same result.
