My cable Modem is only a modem not a modem/router so there is nothing to open in it.

I have even taken my router out completely and connected right from the cable modem to the PC. still doesn't work

and as far as open ports ALL PORTS ARE OPEN!!! no matter what port I check it shows as open

I have tried several online multiplayer games and not one has any issues.

Is there anyway that I can try and join a game and someone can see from the server side what might be going on????

a log someplace that shows why I "failed to connect to server" ?????????

I really dont want to uninstall alleg and end 10 years of fun, but I am very close to doing just that!

That's possible but I doubt that it'll tell us anything - the error is at your end. But let's give it a try. Try to connect to a game on Solap and take note of the time (Eastern time) when you made the attempt. I'll look for the logs on Solap to see if there's anything indicating that you're joining.

Yeah. The logs are fairly limited in what they report. I did see that a newbie had joined your game: Saramin@BS but there's no other sign of you otherwise... as I suspected. You created the game, but never joined it and the logs tend to agree with that assessment. So something at your end is still blocking you from actually connecting to the created game.

I didn't expect the logs to show an error - not until it knows that there's a player connected to it. You never get that far.

Are you absolutely sure there's no web page configuration for the modem? Again, check your router to see its gateway address. Or even hook your computer up to the modem directly again and do this:
Start -> Run -> type cmd and press enter -> In the console type ipconfig and press enter.

Your default gateway address will be listed there. Try to put that address into your web browser.

Yes I am sure!!!

I do know the difference between a Modem and a router/modem.....Cablevision ONLY has Modems..... my modem is a Motorolla SBV5121xm
and my router is a linksys WRT300N

my router and or the PC gets a PUBLIC IP addy when plugged into the MODEM.....69.117.xxx.xxx

Alright since you seem absolutely sure the problem isn't on your end call your ISP.
