If you edit the collision tables and masses, could you make a special class of asteroids that act more like pinball bumpers than normal rocks? Placed judiciously they could be a new hazard that doesn't cause a lot of damage, but will throw you seriously off course.

You could possibly throw this into Mad's mine/banana deployable as well.

Are you using the racecore map? There's a special one for it (racemap.igc), and I seem to recall Rav making a second circuit for racecore a while back.

Although you won't be able to race properly until the server code is fixed to allow custom maps without randomized alephs. In fact, I don't know whether you can have a map without randomized alephs at all with the current server code.

Can one of the devs confirm maybe?

Thats my problem denga, for some reason i cant seem to get the racecore map loaded up. Ive tried putting it into the artwork folder and the root folder of the server file. Still no luck. Ideally, id like someone to tell me where to put the map so it cant be used on the race core.

Well, it's been a while since I was running my own server, but as long as you put it in the server's artwork folder and tell it to use that map file, things should be peachy.

Okay, Ive finally managed to resolve all my problems with the map issue. I now have it hosted with the map that was created for it.

Server name: Racers Core
Map Name: Racemap

I dont know how this "core" was played before what was the idea behind the games. ?

idea, there is usually a commentatir / referee, they watch from f3, and start the race

players race through the map, the map is a ring of sectors, someetimes there are branches in the chain where it splits into two paths, one of the paths sectors are shorter but harder with more obsicals, the other are longer, but youy can practically go in a streight line.

there are pit stop sectors, you can play it with limits on how many pitstops you make e.g. you can only use the pitstop 3 times in the race

since the race course loops back round to the start, you can have multiple laps.

you need to paly this core with aleph randomization turned off though, else you will find you exit a aleph inside or 20m from a rock...

nah, it made it annoying having to launch the game, fly the map to see if it was flyable, resign when you find a sector you can't enter
launch the game, fly the map....
