I played in the last SF vs. XT match on October 4, 2009. I was 7 and 11 in terms of K/D. I played for the entire game except for the first 7 minutes.

spideycw wrote:QUOTE (spideycw @ Feb 21 2010, 07:48 PM) Not to be a dick but if you actually go and read every gameplay thread about @SF in 103% of them they say some variation of "not our best game"

Why can't they play their best game ever and still get $#@!ed up?
Spidey, to put it simply, it's not our best game. The entire squadron knows that we don't play to the best of our ability a lot of the times. Stupid boneheaded mistakes happen, people not in the places they are supposed to be, etc all show we don't play our best game. There have only been a handful of games that I'm aware of that we really did play our best and still lost. Most of the games we've lost in the last year is not due to lack of talent, but due to lack of situational awareness (among other things).

I'm not trying to belittle anyone. I'm sure XT played a fantastic game on their side, but I'm disappointed in some of the mistakes SF made in the match that could have made a better game.

All I'm saying is good game with XT and I can't wait for the rematch. See y'all in April!

Ah, so you don't want to cheapen that game for us or anything, but you guys just didn't bother to try hard enough to give us a good game? Did you guys just decide when you woke up this morning that you didn't care enough to stop us from reaming you? I get what you're trying to say, but take a minute to look at your posts and how obnoxiously whiny they look despite how hard you're trying to smooth things out, and then realize that Arch and Striker are being way worse than that.

It doesn't matter how good your "best game" is if you can't bring out that level of skill and teamwork at will. If your play is so inconsistent that you can only accidentally play at the level of the big boys, then no matter how good your best is, you just plain suck.

EDIT: Seriously, Striker? Seriously? Are you really going with "usually when we lose it's because we made a bunch of voob mistakes, therefore we usually don't lose at our best" as your excuse? Of course you lose when you make voob mistakes, these are supposed to be $#@!ing SQUAD GAMES! If you make really stupid mistakes, in most of your games, you don't get to say "well those losses didn't count because we screwed up". What the hell is wrong with you?

I think Dorjan was making a joke. At least that's how I viewed it.

I didn't say anything bad or belittle anyone. Geez. I even paid XT a compliment. As someone mentioned earlier, where is the sportsmanship?

I'll be honest, it is inconsistent a lot of the time. It all depends on who shows up and the choices we make in the match. Sometimes we're spot on and other times we're scratching our heads wondering how we played so poorly when we know better.

See above.

What the hell is wrong with me? That's rich. I'm being honest and forthright. I'm not trying to thump my chest or anything. Yes, a lot of times in the past SF pilots have made "voob" mistakes. I'm sure that has happened in other squadrons before. SF tends to make more, but we have been making headway on that front the past year. Sometimes I feel we take a step forward and then two steps back a few weeks later. We pick up the pieces, learn from the mistakes, and try to improve the next week.

I can't believe you honestly think I'm saying that the losses don't count because we screwed up. I have NEVER EVER once said or implied it. SF rightly deserves every loss we had since we reformed.

So, why can't we all just shake hands like gentlemen, say good game, and look forward to our next match in April? Come on XT, let's bury the hatchet already.

You learn from your mistakes eh? You still haven't learned to just STFU say gg and leave the thread it seems. You've been making that mistake for quite some time now. Not just Striker either, the entirety of SF.

I'm probably the 2nd nicest guy in XT, due to the fact that I even complimented you in my initial post, which Dorjan took offense to some how. However, due to your squads ability to have an excuse for everything, SF felt the need to make some snide comments, so XT responds in force.

Now $#@! off. Last I checked neither Christmas, Snow, or New Year's Eve happen in April. The only thing I'm going to watch out for is another @#(!ty excuse for playing like the voobs you've established yourselves as.

Apparently 4th place is a pretty contested seat.

So now we're up to the "I was never wrong, this whole thing was your fault" and phase of things? I should do an analysis of "voob posting patterns" someday, they're about as set in stone as Alleg numbers but a whole lot funnier. Striker, we've had some terrible, terrible games even in just the couple of months I've been in XT, games where we just couldn't get it together and just performed terribly. But when we lost those games, we didn't go blathering on like cartoon villains about how we just weren't playing at our best and we'd get those pesky kids next time - we accepted our loss, congratulated the other team on their victory, and left it at that in the Gameplay threads.

SF, on the other hand? I particularly like the part on page 1 where Dorjan laments that SF just can't seem to play at their best against any of the squads that are better than them, but usually manage to bring their "best performance" against the squads they always beat anyway. Heh. And no, Striker, why would we leave it at this? You guys started this, now you can finish it. No, not by making the usual wussy "why don't we all shake hands and call it at that" draw territory. I want a full-on resign. Bend over and apologize for crapping up this thread with your whining. Otherwise, we're gonna make you suck it up and suck it down, and you're just gonna have to deal with it.

So much for burying the hatchet eh?

Awww he's bringing out the age old December joke again! Drizzo, instead of the holier than thou attitude, cursing, etc why can't we just put our differences aside and actually be civil to one another? Is it really that hard to just shakes hands and stop flinging the insults? I'm making an effort here to finally put the nastiness aside and you're throwing it back in my face. That's real mature.
