Systems Online again
We were mapping out routes to missagua, ON or w/e i'm 14 hrs away. 12 hours if i speed and take chances, as usual.

These bugs haven't been fixed yet because don't have any developers interested in fixing them up. --Tigereye

The permanet game i.e. Zone Game on Solap is for CC08 core testing and unless you have approrpiate software it will not work for you. Simply make a new game and choose CC07.
Once I check with my compadres about the status of CC08 version I will update you further. Now get your ass in game
OK both Planet and Solap are up atm, GPZ didn't come up auto we need G,P, or Z to bring it up manually.
Server admin update
- We should have new maps sittting in my inbox
- Update for the game servers are ready
Im going to hold off 24 hours or until TE says before updates go live on Solap
I just KNEW the threat of driving up and being in the same room would motivate him. Everyone praise me

edit: mentioned wrong update

Good effort TE, get some sleep but thank you very much.
I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

Except the big about dorjan being jelly, that's just spidey's ego.

Why didn't you set up new server with a old database, test it and gone live if testing succeeded...

Hm that reminds me I should change my location.Imago wrote:QUOTE (Imago @ Jan 14 2010, 10:37 AM) We were mapping out routes to missagua, ON or w/e i'm 14 hrs away. 12 hours if i speed and take chances, as usual.
I'm in Toronto now... and so are our servers. Add 30mins to your clock
I did. Thoroughly.pkk wrote:QUOTE (pkk @ Jan 14 2010, 11:08 AM) Why didn't you set up new server with a old database, test it and gone live if testing succeeded...![]()
The problems I encountered were hardware-related not software...I couldn't test the interactions without having a 2nd set of identical hardware.
Plus, I'm surprised you'd think I wouldn't test before something like this!
I set up the new servers as VMs. The ASGS VM had a copy of the DB from October 2009, and testing went perfectly.
An example of an issue I was fighting with was the fact that things broke upon reboots. Once the box was rebooted it would not work any more... I'd need to re-install the hypervisor to boot again which would work until the next reboot. Rinse, lather, repeat.
At first I thought it was a software setting I made which was somehow incompatible with the hardware, so I would re-install and make fewer changes. Then fewer. When it got to the point that after a FRESH install, and doing a CLEAN reboot it was still happening I knew something was fishy...and I didn't have the time to figure out what it was.
Anyways. I've copied down the error messages I saw and will be researching the problems and the specific error messages thoroughly before attempting this again.

The Allegiance community currently hates their sysadmin because he is doing: [Too Much] [____________|] [Too Little]
Current reason: Removing the PayPal contribute page. Send Bitcoin instead: 1EccFi98tR5S9BYLuB61sFfxKqqgSKK8Yz. This scale updates regularly.
I though you brought the new hardware, so why isn't that server at home for testing propose?Tigereye wrote:QUOTE (Tigereye @ Jan 14 2010, 05:35 PM) I couldn't test the interactions without having a 2nd set of identical hardware.
Anyway, you setting up the machine, no me... I should stop complaining.
