I have the same problem but the download did not resolve the issue. I am working on WinXP. That should not matter though, should it??

I'd be inclined to believe that your download failed to install properly. Are you running XP in an account with full privileges?

Hi freebeer -

I am uncertain what that mneans... full privilege.

It is the operating system that came with the computer when I bought it new at the store.

Also... when I downloaded the whatever, directx thing... it asks me where to place the extracted files.... I have no clue as to what that means. where do i put those files?

Anywhere, but in 1 place; then you install the files by finding the one that says something like 'setup.exe'

Hi asteroid -

well I guess that would help... to actually install the darn thing... that did work, but now it won't let me in saying I need to use asgs... when i am using the asgs... geez, could this be any more tedious?

C_D,

You have TS and a mic, right? Maybe catch me on TS and we can diagnose it that way. (Make sure I'm not in-game at the time, ok? :P ) Or you might want to head over to #freeallegiance or #RollingThunder on IRC (quakenet, I think)- there's usually someone on there that might be able to help you "live".

Hi FreeBeer -

Thanks for the reply... I may have to try the thunder route because I don't have a mic or teamspeak I will try for this tomorrow :)

Erm... what is this #allegiance thing? I sthis a chat log/instant messenger type of thing? Is that located here at the forums/website?

The #freeallegiance is just another IRC channel. In my experience it is less populated than the #RollingThunder one.
