Hi,

I apologise in advance if this has been been covered already but I did look and couldn't find an answer.

I've just reinstalled the exe from this site after re-discovering Allegiance after 5 yrs of absence. After installation loading "Allegiance Online" doesn't work but "Allegiance Training" does. After clicking the online function in the Training exe the program updated itself. I rebooted and still "Allegiance Online" gives me the same error:

"ASGSClient.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
"If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost."
[Close]

I am yet to forward the required ports however I don't think this is a port problem. Any suggestions pls or other information required? Thanks.

You are correct in that this is not a port forwarding problem. It seems that ASGS is crashing or failing to start properly. My advice is to check the ASGS issues page of the knowledgebase and see if that can help you. It's possibly a .NET framework issue that you're having.

If nothing in there helps please post back with your system specs using the template in the Readme First post.

"Allegiance Online" and "Allegiance Training" ??

The current installer no longer installs separate shortcuts since March 1st 2006. The training missions work perfectly now no matter how you log in.

It sounds like you have an old installer.

Uninstall and redownload from this KB entry. Good luck,

ok thanks for the help earlier. I have updated to .net framework v2 and run the latest installer and now it says the product must have .net framework 1.1 installed to run.

have i done something wrong or do i need to rollback? thanks again.

2.0 is not a .Net upgrade. You can install both without problems. For some programmes you need .Net 2.0, for some you need 1.1
