refill wrote:QUOTE (refill @ Dec 8 2009, 01:14 PM) I have a 4 minute video of a simple bbr run that fails. Would someone like to put some casual narration onto mp3 describing whatever is going on. A small link to the mp4 being made as I type. I would do it but my voice sucks...& it would make Agri hate me a little more lol!

Edit: For the record there will be no singing or talking ships in this video lol! I might just put an alleg image and the beginning and the address on the end.
BTW it is for newbies.

Dunno if you saw this refill - but Lawson did something along these lines a while ago (although we could use some more). Theres some guidance on how he did his in thewiki article about them.

On a side note, it maybe worth sounding him out for voiceover work - I know he offered to help with squirg's videos back in august... And he has an excellent voice for this sorta thing.

Ta NJ, I will fish out MrL this evening with another PM for his services.

If that fails I will start at the top and work my way down and I will NOT be denied!

Edit: wow just had a further look over that wiki link. Nice job! Gulp I have no hope. I have also had a look over that thread and have decided that I am safer, keeping my distance from the official Freealleg production. Those YouTube features look like they may do the job. I am thinking the muppet show theme tune to open up the house. Who of you are playing Waldorf & stadler?

Video of good gameplay will be the best advertisement for Allegiance.

Just avoid putting any metal music or such on them. While I personally like metal (like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest or Hammerfall) many people don't and I don't think such fit with Allegiance too well. Ambient music or something like the stuff on Homeworld soundtrack would work much better... or making use of the original Allegiance music tracks.

Gameplay videos and some kind of intro are great ideas, but they will take some time to make and implement. May i suggest that, in the meantime, linking this delightful video in an easy-to-see-way on the Allegiance Home Page would give people some impressions?

One of the worst dogfighters this game has yet seen. And still, Cadet II made even me better!

How about the Starfox Corneria theme?
I meant this one: SSB: melee version

That original vid was using Carmina Barana(sp?) by Karl Orff, I think, as the first piece. Lots of atmosphere. And its a long piece in toto, with lots of choral work.Could have used it more' instead of the stuff they used for the combat, imo.

Everybody knows everything is funnier if you play it at double speed using "Yaketty Sax".

I would make lots of really nice Alleg vids if there was just an easier way to record. Can't just join a game to record usually or it throws off balance, etc.

""How about the Starfox Corneria theme?""

I think its nice but the french horn refrains get a tad tired. I like the idea of tango, though. Piazzola, the,I think, Argentine composer is a gold mine for tango stuff.
