SIS graphics
I think theres a problem with the new graphics engine that Alleg. uses on some old Gfx chips.
I believe this is a issue being worked on, in the hope of releasing a new build which doesn't exhibit these problems.
Before you ask - upgrading the Gfx code for Alleg. was absolutely necessary, as the old engine did not work on quite a few of the newer graphics cards.
This problem was not spotted the lack of people volunteering to test. This is not the devs team's fault, a number of Testing days were set up with no appreciable response.
The next part is aimed at everyone (not just those with problems, and not just the thread starter).
When a new Beta gets setup and put up for people to test - you can best know whether your hardware works with the new code, by testing it yourself before release.

I appreciate peoples time. I don't feel screwed. I am frustrated because I have tried everything that I know to try to help myself here. Which Isn't alot, but I'm not completely computer illiterate. I know as much about computers, as you probably know about constructing a home from scratch. I just wanted to know if my comp is not compatable so I dont waste another 20 hours trying to remedy something that cant be fixed, thats all. Thankyou for all the people that take time to help. And no my device monitor doesn't read like you were asking.

There was a problem I've seen surface lately that has forced many to reinstall their video drivers to get Allegiance to work. I have been helping others to get the latest video drivers installed so that we can rule that out before they are passed along to the devs for further examination.
If you know you have installed your latest video drivers after that latest directx upgrade, then I would ask you to then turn to the Dev part of this forum and allow them to take it from here.

Thanks anyway helpline guys. I did try to test R5, but it wouldn't work (I forget why), but I didn't judge it as important enough to get the helpline guys involved; the game still worked, just one small part of it didn't. If only I'd known =[
Seriously though, thanks for the effort you helpline guys put in all the time to get numbnuts like myself playing again in your free time for free.

That's the whole point of beta testing. To identify glitches big and small. Report it. Your issue may be tiny, but it may identify a larger underlying problem. Let the devs know so that they can determine what has priority, what is significant, what is isolated. They *want* to know - so give 'em the feedback they crave.
This is not just aimed at you, Val - it's for everyone.
If you want to help getting this fixed, please fill out the template, post the three logfiles from your Allegiance folder and test the experimental builds with the training missions to see if it is fixed for you there. (Yes, I agree they should be made more prominently available in the future.)kerosene wrote:QUOTE (kerosene @ Nov 26 2009, 02:37 AM) I appreciate peoples time. I don't feel screwed.
