1. You can tell if a tech base planted by the build sphere and loss of a rock
2. You can see He3 drop'
3. Most scouts are already out there and disrupting miners and cons and keeping tabs on them.

I might bring along a few and place it next to a successfully pushed base, but normally I load up on dumbfires and a few prox and attempt to kill an undefended con, or even bag a miner.

Once the map has been scouted, then I'll eye the enemy bases and probe where it's needed most.
Even earlier if a bomb rush is expected.
If i did this i would expect the com to chastise me greatly

as Dorjan said "Probing wins games"

for my first run i always take a hold full of probes and go low sig asap pick tech then get back to base and then probe some more......
.......eventually i might get out there to "bag" something......though it usually bags me!

Edit : PS I always take my Nan

Early mornings I like the paper and a little breakfast served to me in bed. Followed by a quick shower, a leisurely walk....

right right right. early game. early early game

Either kill @#(! or probe/nan
flying about in a scout as a con killer, UNLESS you do it like the duo of destruction Snack and Serb,
bad idea

;)

the only things i dropped in the last months are prox, plasgens and a few beacons :ninja:

But i probed the first half of the year to make up for it. :P
Still ready to teach anyone who asks nicely whatever they want to know about playing alleg. Contrary to popular opinion I do not eat newbies. Voobs taste much better.

Close it really means:
Weylin wrote:QUOTE (Weylin @ Nov 13 2009, 05:29 PM) I don't really like probing like what us voobs should be doing, I prefer to try and kill stuff like what those skilled players should be doing.

What ever happened to the work done on being able to kill your own probes (like the ones dropped on red doors)
And the too close to an aleph?

It was working on one of the beta tests I was playing on (ages ago now) but it seems it was never adopted....how come?

It's in "experimental" mode for R5.

if you turn on experimental it should work.
