FYI, I just learned to remap models with Milkshape and tested a modified sup with retextured bays. I'm using text mdls and pngs now.

Well, I spent a bit of time with the sup, hunting for polys, remapping surfaces and generally feeling annoyed by the blocky model.

Then I tried spending half that time throwing things together from scratch.

And I really think doing new bases would yield better results in the same amount of time. Here's a super crude half-done thing to show what I mean:

Even a bunch of basic shapes with a smooth profile and proper texturing might look better.

I could try to do a whole set of that stuff, unless completely replacing GT bases is a bad idea that makes baby Yoda cry. :ninja:

FYI: Milkshape sucks at creating texture maps.

Also, that model is just plain cool. MOAR, I say, MOAR!

Please stick with improving the textures instead of completely usurping my faction.. if you want to make your own models then I recommend building your own faction ;)

Btw, I do have a couple ideas for a new faction, if you want to do the artwork.

It is a very awesome and pretty model, but I'm also for making a new faction for it. It lacks that signature G'T "Giant Slab of Concrete in Space" feel.

Though when I saw it, my first thought was "awesome cap ship." :D

Well, I used the GT logo as the starting concept.

I wouldn't mind doing a new faction, but I'm sure I wouldn't try to do the small ships.

i wish i were able to do clean steel plate textures and small windows like textures loke those. i've tried to do that forever on "small ships" with no particular success. ^^ Grand job Space, i wish i'd be able to do something akin as well

:)

I loved the u rock idea, but i agree with andon: there are better softwares for mapping than MS, quicker, but more important than that, cleaner, and more apt to avoid all kinds of deformations.

I've been really enjoying your new textures, but one question: Do you have a 24/32 bit color version available?
