Giga shield perk
Except they're really, really not. Giga exp is the worst expansion, followed by Belters, possibly even followed by Dreg (fast is nothing when ever other faction either has 10% more hull, 10% more damage, or both).

You have (hopefully) Belts figs with damage 2 defending yield 2 miners. That means you have hvy int nans in not long.

I like the thought behind trading the 1.1 shield perk for something else like Yield, but I also don't think its necessary right now. Giga Sup doesn't feel too far out of balance and the perk also makes up for the hull on the faction's bombers, gunships, capships, miners and constructors. The latter two is also where the perk helps Giga exp the most.
Regarding Giga expansion: The ints are fine. Before p1 starts jumping up and down and pointing to TEK, yes I know it has 0.85 hull. The ints have a good hitbox and even the gunmounts are great now. It also gets access to the accel GAs and (theoretically) the economy via yield & speed GAs to hand out Lxys as needed. I swear if anyone complains about the fuel on Lxy ints I'm going to ban them from this forum.
The shortcoming behind the techpath isn't due to the ints, its due to the light outposts & weaker HTTs. Both Sup & Tac fare much better without forward bases than exp, although this is countered again by the economy which should allow a Giga team to spam techbases. In theory at least. The HTT issue isn't really unique to Giga either, its just more apparent because they are more easily spiked.

Also Giga Exp is fine at what exp is supposed to do: Defend. Also Giga econ blah blah blah (cap perk means a 1 miner econ is a very real possibility even if spammin techs).
