girlyboy wrote:QUOTE (girlyboy @ Jun 11 2009, 09:00 PM) That is an awesome bit of phoenix trivia. :P You qualify as a very peculiar kind of returning vet... "I've been playing for ten years! ...The final training mission..." Anyway, I kid. ^_^ Must have been a happy day when you finally could play online. :)
It was weird, I was trolling the GitP forums when I saw Adept's signature, and i was like, "hmmm... allegiance? I think I've heard of that..."

See, I played Starlancer avidly when it came out, and was rabidly looking for similar games. Freelancer was still a blip on the horizon so I bought Allegiance... then I noticed I needed an internet connection to play. I was like 10 at the time so I can (sort of) be forgiven. Plus I wasn't allowed to play video games at all, so getting an internet connection to my room was impossible. Then after reading Adept's signature, I decided to try it out, and, well, here I am.

Now that I've seen what I've been missing all these years, I'm convinced I'm better off. After all, if I'd played allegiance in its heydey I'd never have had a life!

Hello All.
I found this game and though "What?! There's a game that actually uses teamwork?! Score!!"
While waiting for Cadet I to start, I was way pumped to find a Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick (is that a good joystick?) at a yard sale for a buck.
Now I'm just reading the wiki and hoping to slowly crawl my way up the newbie ladder...

Sidewinders are pretty good, iirc. I use mouse, but what the hell, right?

Welcome aboard! This game *needs* teamwork, but that doesn't mean we always use it ;)

Precision 2 is just about the best joystick ever made. It is worth every single penny.

Welcome to the game!

Thanks Cookie Monster. I just finished reading all the Cadet I training info by staying up all night. It's now 6 in the morning.
Hopefully I will see you in-game sometime so I can show you what I can do.
