You would also need to do some serious stretching before you hopped in a turret to avoid grievous bodily harm...

I got this back from TrackIR today:

"We would really like to have support in your open source project, but require that no part of the TrackIR SDK be openly distributed. We need to make sure that the TrackIR support you make available to the public is in a binary format and that the source is not available.

If that's doable for you, I'll also need you to sign and return the attached NDA."

I'm not sure what that means in terms of code without actually seeing the API...

In general, would how would the current core developers feel about trying to accomodate such a restriction?

I don't have strong feelings one way or another, I just thought it would be an interesting feature and within my capabilities to contribute to Allegiance. If this is a non-starter, I understand and I will not be offended. If there is some other coding project that I can contribute to, I'm willing to take a look.

I very seriously doubt the license MS gave us will allow that.

doesn't seem it would be too useful in allegiance, not as much as it is in flight simulator.

Though it would be very cool if allegiance had detailed interiors and you were wearing an RF tracker and 3D glasses

Thats because the guy in the video could only afford HALF of the equipment... you need this too... as well as neck brace for all the gadgets on your head....

Be VERY careful with the way you work things with the alleg code.

It's not open source, even though the source is open. Every modification done to the code, according to the license provided by Microsoft, is property of Microsoft.
