What size games is CC being balanced for?

Because all I see when I log in are @#(!-tard fests of 50+ players on tiny maps like Hihigher and IO. Going exp vs exp for 2-3 hours.

You kind of need to decide, because:
If you're balancing for small maps, Exp needs a nerf.
If you're balancing for large numbers of players, the damage of XRM doesn't need to be very high.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

Related to this, I think the maps should come with recommended player numbers.

I suspect that's a core code (it's what I meant... we can't change it) change, adept (unless we put it in the name).

@Juckto, I'm thinking that we're trying to balance for the 10-20 player a side range.

Edit: it's not the fault of the CC team that comms pick Pinwheel for 50v50 games. Don't blame us if you aren't picking the right maps.

Not a core change. It'd be either a name change (for maps.txt) or a code change

I would assume the 5-15 player range, with 20 a side it still gets pretty stupid quickly. But they are talking about that Large Version of CC and a SG version.

five a side is a small game where tac is crazy. A good rule of thumb is the average size of squadgames.

Well as long as they aren't making a late night core I would assume they wouldn't do anything to further imbalance small games like reducing the damage of Sup weapons (anti-base stuff).

But yeah the 10-15 player team is ideal and should be the target of balancing.

Three cores,

1) CC. CC will be designed for average games. Think 10-20 people. If the average game size during prime time rises to 30 a side then we'll start balancing for 30 a side allegiance. If it drops to 2 a side, we'll balance it for 2 a side allegiance.

2) CC large game. This is the core that is going to be used for major events, such as Zone Games, where we are anticipating as many as three times the normal number of players per side (when we are expecting >40 players a side, in other words). If at some point, 40 player a side allegiance becomes the norm, CC large game will probably become CC. Generally this means nerfing sup ab damage and increasing base HP.

3) CC Squad game. This core will be balanced for the highly competitive squad game atmosphere, in which the goal is to win and teamwork is exceptional. Generally this means perking the early games of some factions while nerfing others.

FYI, half of 50+ is a team of 25+.

I'm pretty sure that for most of most games the team sizes are around 15v15. Doesn't AS track this? I'll go poke baker.
