why do we need a retro booster anyway? What purpose does it serve in the game? It certainly doesn't aid the scout in its primary purpose - scouting and probing. All it does is give scouts a reason to dogfight. Why would we want that?

Miner under attack coming to base and scout going towards it from base to nan it... @#(! sliver of hull. Nan it before it dies!

Aw dang overthrust. If only I had some way to slow down FAST!

Yeh dang this game needs to be much easier for all the noobs who need tech to make their ships slow down faster. God forbid i would have to use thrusters and plan my decel. Comming next XRM Hunter Killer and caltrops for scouts.

Ah, but doesn't using retro booster in itself require some skill? And won't this probably not entirely change even if it's perked in some way?

I've saved miners with a sliver of health many times without requiring retro boosters. Also, see what apoch said.

@das, see above. Why should we make scouts good at dogfighting? That's not what scouts are about.

Then what is retroboost here for if not to break? If it's just eyecandy then get rid of it so we have the open slots for something else.

But if it's here specifically to make it slow down scouts, make it slow down scouts effectively.

Retro boost allows scouts to fly backwards really fast, not just slow down. I think it would allow us to have more fun with scouts which for a game is always a good thing.

Lol wut? Scouts aren't good dogfighters, and the retroboost doesn't make them suddenly good at it.

Where do you get the idea that retroboost helps a scout dogfight? Retroboost aids a scout in it's primary purposes (scouting, probing, camping) and especially in it's most important purpose (ripping away when chased)
