why do we need a retro booster anyway? What purpose does it serve in the game? It certainly doesn't aid the scout in its primary purpose - scouting and probing. All it does is give scouts a reason to dogfight. Why would we want that?

It makes the prox scout a mean boy to fight, giving the scoutwhores a better chance to survive against the other whores.

Yeh dang this game needs to be much easier for all the noobs who need tech to make their ships slow down faster. God forbid i would have to use thrusters and plan my decel. @das, see above. Why should we make scouts good at dogfighting? That's not what scouts are about.

Then what is retroboost here for if not to break? If it's just eyecandy then get rid of it so we have the open slots for something else.

Retro boost allows scouts to fly backwards really fast, not just slow down. I think it would allow us to have more fun with scouts which for a game is always a good thing.

Where do you get the idea that retroboost helps a scout dogfight? Retroboost aids a scout in it's primary purposes (scouting, probing, camping) and especially in it's most important purpose (ripping away when chased)
