silence > static > music.Squirg wrote:QUOTE (Squirg @ Apr 2 2009, 04:39 PM) I had to put music on it because the sound from my FRAPS is messed up. would you rather have music, or ear splitting static? I'm not a big fan of music on gameplay wither, but it's better than silence.
Allegiance Video
TakingArms wrote:QUOTE (TakingArms @ Aug 9 2009, 07:15 AM) it's interesting how politics turns ordinarily funny, kind-hearted people into vicious, hateful attack mongers. Except IB, he's just always that way.
People just take stuff too seriously I think. Except IB, of course.
Aye, it was truly painful for me to watch him waste all those blue sparklies. My spine was literally tingling while I watched the video, like if I was there I would have wanted to shove him away from the controls and take over.Ozricosis wrote:QUOTE (Ozricosis @ Apr 2 2009, 04:50 PM) Nice video.
Miniguns only shoot to about 400m. I had to shut the video down after 2 minutes of watching you fire at things 700m away.![]()
Nice video though. Stick around, we like Squirgs.
Nice track though, what's the name of the 1st one?

Nice video.
The gun reticle appears when your weapons are in range of your targetThe gun reticle turns green when at least one of your weapons is aimed to hit the targetI was nanning on that TF bomb run, which is a good job! Nanning is VITALLY important and will help your aimDon't kill enemy pods ESPECIALLY with ones with low kill bonuses and EVEN MORE especially in the middle of a bomb run on a tech base - look at 4:00 in your video for why. You pod kill Genius with a 0 KB and he launches immediately and attacks the bbr. Lucky that he was podded quickly or that simple act could have ruined the bomb runIf you like the game and want to learn more, join the Cadet programme
Like I said, nice video - pumping choonz.

Actually, It's only if your primary weapon is aimed such that it's shots would theoretically hit the target.SouthPaw wrote:QUOTE (SouthPaw @ Apr 3 2009, 11:22 AM) The gun reticle turns green when at least one of your weapons is aimed to hit the target
The primary weapon is usually the first weapon, but you can change it by pressing naother weapon's selection button twice.
Can't stand that. To me it's not a gameplay video unless it is completely unedited start to finish footage. I want to know how the game plays in it's entirety - not just the best parts.Correct wrote:QUOTE (Correct @ Apr 2 2009, 02:32 PM) DONT PUT MUSIC ON GAMEPLAY VIDEOS DAMN YOU.
You could do parts 1 - 40 in a single game!CronoDroid wrote:QUOTE (CronoDroid @ Apr 2 2009, 02:37 PM) I should film my own Allegiance exploits some day...I'll call it "Crono defends miners against IB: The Series".
Nice video work, take everyone's advice and do CDT. I await Weed's video eagerly.
Squirg wrote:QUOTE (Squirg @ Apr 2 2009, 01:49 PM) Also, there aren't many heavy metal songs that go for 8 minutes that I know of
Music noob.
Deep Purple's "Space Truckin'" would fit the bill. (Whether DP is "Heavy Metal" or "Hard Rock", I'll leave to the semanticists.) The tune is driving enough that with the appropriate clips, could be used in an Alleg vid. Also, their "Highway Star" might fit your current vids a little better. The title isn't particularly appropriate, but some of the lyrics are: "ooh she's a killing machine", etc.
Other Titles: "Chasing Shadows", "The Bird Has Flown", and many more.
DP also has a song appropriate for commanders: "Sometimes I Just Want to Scream", for Cadets: "Listen, Learn, Read On".
That's just one band (although some songs aren't 8 minutes or more or wouldn't be appropriate background music).
Alright guys, next video I make will feature less of me being a total noob. (I'll shoot in range so you vets don't cringe.) It will hopefully include more teamwork, since I know my last one was more dogfighting. Also, I'll be using Space Truckin' for the music next video, thanks FreeBeer!
Addressing some of the complaints though:
-I never said it was a gameplay video, just a video. I filmed about an hour's worth, and had to squish it down to fit the bill. I too hate it when gameplay videos are masked with music, but I'm not about to put a whole game up unless it's special in some way.
-If you don't like the music, mute the video. Your time is better spent doing that then complaining about it to me, because I don't care.
-The sound issue seems to persist no matter what I do. I think it may have something to do with FRAPs and the game sound being in .ogg or something. Anyone else have these problems? If not, it may just be the sound card on my comp.
I'm still thinking about redoing the "You Suck at Allegiance" tutorials, and still need people to help me out with that. Thanks.
