Wow,

My name in lights already! Thankfully I'm a (5) now, so it's not as embarrassing. You'll probably find I joined that game because of your vet rating BP ;) Damn you for leaving. We were destroyed! :)

Anyway, I discovered Allegiance through an article on Digg.com (you were probably wondering were the recent influx of newbs came from) about a week ago. Done most of the training programs (haven't gone near command yet) and I've read through Week 1, 2 and 3 of CADET I. Planning to apply for CDT once I get comfy with the game.

I'm from Ireland (I work nights, that's why I'm always up late) and I think it is amazing what you guys have created for absolutely nothing to the end user. I'm a huge supporter of the freeware community and I'll be available to help out in any way I can, when I can (not a programmer, sorry!). For the moment, I'm just going to get better at this (I need a lot of practise) so I can help my commanders out :)

See you all in there soon.

Pssst, I'm a (6) :P

Sigulus, I left because the game was pointless and "it was not like I had a gun pointing at my head." I also left to prevent the game from reaching the size to count.

Exactly. Your vet status ;) To a lowly (1), you were a God!

I actually found that game interesting (even if we were ripped to pieces by their SBs). Because there were so few of us, things didn't move along as quick so instead of 100 things at once going through my head, there was only 50 :o . Gave me a chance to take a breath and take stock of what was happening.

What's the minimum size to get your stats counted?

It's 5v5 for 5 minutes, IIRC.

Sigulus = Exemplary newbie ;)

Talk about doing everything right, once you're into Cadet II the squads are going to be all over you!

Well, another one joining the fray here. I have played the game back when it was out in retail, but never really got into it. Now, seeing that there is still such a strong community to back it up really got me interested - and so here I am. The downside of course is that I have pretty much forgotten everything over the past decade (is it really that old already?), but I'm willing to learn it - properly, this time.
Anyway, I will probably stick around for a while, and look forward to playing with you guys ;)

I guess I should have done this when I signed up. I'm a second year Computer Science major and found you guys through the same article on digg. I'm a (0.5) now! Hardest part about this game is figuring out what to do when, the actual flying/shooting seems to have a reasonable learning curve.
