I wasn't being aggressive. Or at least I didn't hope to sound that way. I just felt that there had already been a number of replies to the thread with good advice, which the dude didn't even acknowledge.

It'd be better for him, and the community as a whole if he didn't waste effort, and tried to help with the multitude of other projects which are ongoing (coding, new factions, models, graphics, quantas)

Sorry if it sounded aggressive.

Notj, now attempts to dispense sensible advice to ayre10

Seriously ayre - people would appreciated it more if you asked where you could help before planning things which would be difficult for a top notch technical team. If you have the skills to do what you suggested in 6 mths, go and work for a software/games company, and be their highest earner in a year.

Java? Python? Cappa? C#?

edit, the post after this one is very good, take note of what it says. slow down, learn about what you are dealing with, talk about what you are [actually] going to do and how you're going to do it.
I know C+!

ONE OF US IN WRONG OR AFTER 6YRS OF PLAYING MULTILAYER GAMES I SEEMED TO HAVE GOT IT THE WRONG WAY ROUND.
HOLY @#(!TEH I TYPE IN ALL CAPS FOR COOL VALUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND BY THE WAY (Ok, I had to stop. I was making myself rage) LAN games are over a LAN. A IP address is basically what identifies your computer over that LAN. Think of the LAN as a street, and the IP address as the address of the house you are going to.

Lessee, 5 factions x 1.5 year each + 2 years to balance them alltoghether... 9.5 years! OK. Lets round it to 10, as you probably will need vacation on some point.
In-game music that beats the original one (yeah, we have that, you can download it)... I'll leave that one without a comment.
Voice activation? WTF do you mean by that? Something like an integrated TeamSpeak? If so, lemme just slap 2 more years onto your schedule. 4 if you're not pro-level C/C++ programmer (and I take it you're not).
In short, if you're going to skip the music, you just might make it before before the zombie apacalypse of 2023 will hit!

Good luck.
