Actually, I think there should just be a potpouri sci-fi ship core...models of ships from different shows/movies, etc. Humans vs aliens? Good vs evil? Take a guess what ship I would love to see in Allegiance.

The BSG core exists with a fairly limited range of small ships. >_> I'm sure there would be some way to spin the SG-1 ships, maybe think up a few plausible alternatives for some of them, to make Allegiance-like game tactics possible. Like, make a few variants of Death Gliders or something.
I've thought about this myself actually (<3 SG-1) and it seems that in some ways, at least the Goa'uld (sp?) ships match Allegiance pretty nicely. :-P Death Gliders are like interceptors, Alkesh bombers are like bombers and gunships, cargo ships are regularly used for infiltration on the show, so they make perfect troop transports, and there's a wide range of slow, lumbering cap ships, some of which are so huge they might as well be bases. And the small cargo ships are shown in a variety of different roles, including use as scouts and stealth ships, so including two or three different versions of them that could be researched would not be too implausible. (Or just having one core scout-like cargo ship, and being able to research different technology for it, like the cloaking device or something to make troop infiltration more plausible -- and making these devices cost money, instead of the ship itself.)
So all that's really missing for the Goa'uld, at least, is the fighter, an extra stealth ship, and the utility ships. And within the show, we've seen them develop new technology on several different occasions, so it would not be too implausible to come up with something. >_>
P.S. For utility ships: There are few space stations in the original SG-1 show, but some of the really big Goa'uld ships seem like they'd be right at home as space stations. Only stations don't move! So how about having constructors that look like some of the larger variants of Goa'uld capital ships, and their story would be that they have to be deployed to asteroids to conduct research there and make production of new technology possible? Then it would sort of make sense that once they've finished "deploying" at an asteroid (i.e. building), they can't really move again, and effectively become a base. Also their appearance could change at this point in some way to make the bases look distinct.

I love this show so much that I must necro-post on this thread! ^o^
Also, I found this, a collection of 3D models of Stargate ships on something called "scifi-meshes.com". And I *think* some of these, at least, might be free to use, as long as you credit and notify the artists. >_> Not entirely sure.
But aside from the question of finding/making the models, let me tell you my thoughts about using the Goa'uld as a faction! My thoughts, let me tell you them. I was randomly looking at the show's wiki, and it struck me again just how *nicely* Goa'uld ships match the classes of ships in Allegiance. They have a more complete list than I've seen before. Observe!
So, right off the bat, we have this for a Goa'uld faction: They start with two ship types, the bulky Tel'tak, which act like (somewhat crappy) scouts, and the Needle Threaders, which act as basic fighters. This fits great with the show, since Needle Threaders are supposed to be old and maybe obsolete, so they're good for your basic starting tech, and Tel'taks were often used basically as scouts; technically they're actually small transport ships, but that works too -- they transport and deploy probes and proximity mines! It all makes sense.
Then you have something for every tech path. For Expansion, you develop Death Gliders. They remind me a lot of interceptors, the way they're used in the show: short-range, but powerful weapons; no faster-than-light engines (i.e. no ripcord
); basically used for brief, but devastating hit-and-run raids.
For Supremacy, you get improved Needle Threaders. These only came up in one episode in the show, but on the other hand, that means we'd have a freer hand to play around with their abilities and such. Also, in the show it's established they are the only Goa'uld fighter-class ships that can travel faster than light (well, only because they can go through stargates... but still, at least it makes sense in spirit!) so, like the Allegiance fighter class, they can ripcord. Anyway, we need a dogfighting ship besides the Death Glider, so let's take what we can get -- at least these already exist in the canon.
Aside the ability to ripcord, they'd be more fragile than Death Gliders, but their weapons would be a bit longer-range. Sup would also give you the usual improvements for bombers etc.
For Tactical, you develop a Tel'tak-mounted cloaking device. These ships often cloaked in the show, and were the only small ships to be able to do so. You could also develop special weapons for these ships, to let them attack miners perhaps (again, in the show these were usually unarmed, but one was fitted with weapons on at least one occasion); or maybe they could be modified to carry anti-base "bombs" (which would cost money). So basically, you don't get a Tac-specific ship type, but Tac gives you weapons and devices that turn the Tel'tak, which normally acts as a scout, into either a SF or a SB. All this equipment should also weigh a ton to make them hard to manoeuvre, and come with other nerfs. It's a bit of an unorthodox solution for Allegiance, but that makes it fun, and again it fits with the show, where these little ships were incredibly flexible, and were outfitted to play some totally new role in many episodes.
The rest is pretty self-explanatory: the Al'kesh bombers are, well, the bombers, and they fit this role perfectly: In the show they were shown to have turrets and were explicitly said to be heavily armoured, but slower and less manoeuvrable than smaller ships, just like your typical Allegiance bomber. They'd probably use an energy-based AB/anti-capship pilot's mount weapon, sort of like the Rixian or Technoflux (but with big, glowy projectiles like in the show).
The Goa'uld Troop Transport would be your TT/HTT, obviously; again, they only come up briefly in the show, but they *were* shown on screen, and they *do* have a distinctive design that looks different from any other ship. Again, they could mount some anti-shield gun, like the Technoflux HTT.
The Ha'tak would be your basic carrier, and an Assault version would be available in the Shipyard tech path. Basically, this would be an Assault Carrier with an added anti-base capability, in the form of an anti-base energy weapon for the pilot; it would also have turrets. Smallrip only, of course. It would have shields, which you'd unmount to let ships dock. To fit the show's portrayal, they'd have pretty fragile hull for a cap ship, but good, and fairly rapidly-charging shields (which also means that the basic, AI-controlled carrier version of them would be fragile, which is fine). There were plenty of other awesome-looking capital ships that were shown in the series at one point or another, and some of these could be put in as more advanced capital ships, for after you upgrade the shipyard, but really we don't even need these; once you put in the Ha'Tak, you already have all the usual Allegiance-style SY gameplay, and the capital ship that the Goa'uld used in the show 99% of the time.
There are only three things left: miners, constructors, and some sort of repair ship. The Goa'uld are pretty heavily into mining anyway, but there was never any kind of mining *ship* portrayed in the series... one could probably come up with something on the basic theme of the Tel'tak and other transport-ish ships; same for constructors. There is *plenty* of material in the series for base designs, at least, with different variations on your basic "giant golden pyramid" theme. Plus there was that giant space station where the System Lords have their evil ominous meetings. For once, no need to fall back on Bios bases for lack of material.
For the nan, though, it's harder to come up with something; having a ship to repair other ships isn't really very Goa'uld-like anyway, and I don't think it ever comes up in the show. On the other hand, if there *were* a repair ship, it'd probably be the Tel'tak (a.k.a. our scout). I imagine a very short-range energy-based negative damage weapon with a very large, wide projectile that, when fired, would look a little like a "ring transporter" beam. The justification would then be something like a Tel'tak transport ship "beaming over" repair materials and repair crews. It would not work on Death Gliders or Fighters.
And that is how you make the Goa'uld a perfectly complete and well-balanced Allegiance faction.
Now... that's only one Stargate faction, true. >_> But there's plenty of material for the Humans, too. I imagine them as starting off with that refitted death glider/U.S. air force fighter they came up with in an early episode, and then progressing to the better fighters they came up with later, and all the different cap ship classes. Their technology would start off being much crappier than the Goa'uld, but as they get Advanced Technology they get access to better and better stuff that came up later in the show (with the justification that they're researching and adapting "alien technology"). An advanced Tactical Lab would give you the Puddle Jumper (well, a slightly nerfed one, so you can't *really* take out cap ships in two shots). >.<
Honestly, though, I just really like the Goa'uld; I'd totally play a SG-1 core even if they were the only faction available. And the System Lords fought amongst themselves all the time, so really, two different Goa'uld teams fighting each other makes perfect sense.
Aaand yep. What a long and extremely geeky post. >_> But ah well.
I don't watch much TV, and I have the right to act extremely geeky about *one* show, dammit!
I don't know if this core will ever, ever happen, but hey, I can dream on.
