Nope Crono, I STILL would have said the same things. This goes beyond newbie bashing, this is bitchery bashing. I can't STAND people who come through here trying to act like a complete an utter @#$%@#. So, if they want to treat me like @#(! before they even have a sure foot in the door, I will do everything in my power to knock that foot out of place and send them the other way.

We have enough trolls here already, we don't need noob trolls skanking up the place even more. I don't care if I get banned or not, I consider myself doing a GREAT public service by turning away all noobs who have a stick up their ass.

But I have to agree and disagree with both of you. I may not have been here long but the asshattery from newer players has risen sharply from when I first started. When we have an annoying noob, who won't stop asking questions or keeps on making suggestions for the community(in a somewhat polite manner), he doesn't deserve to be trolled/flamed/etc. Instead we should help him, guide him and eventually he'll learn what's acceptable in our community and what's not. This is true not only for Allegiance but for most other games, from which we get our players from. While Allegiance is not "most games", we still have a responsiblity to teach and guide newer players. This doesn't mean that we can't joke and taunt them when needed, it just means that we shoudl try our best not to troll them.

But when we have a newer player who decides that he is going to try and ruin the fun and games for the rest of us, that's where we should cross the line and tell him to stop. If he persists as in this case, by all means go ahead and flame them, your degree of flaming should match the degree of the newer player's insults. These newer players may not know the general rules of Allegiance (though they should have read the wiki first, I know I didn't) but they should at least have the common sense not to go into a game and insult other players, if they don't tell them to cease and desist. IF they refuse, by all means troll them to hell.

Finally guys, when you troll members of our community, most if not all of us accept it as part of Allegiance and part of a good game, but realize there comes a point where things go too far, and you have to stop. Newer players to our community don't know what we're like, give them a small taste of the taunting and teasing, but don't go too far please.

I like how in gameplay a newbie came to politely ask for his mistake when sbombing. Now we don´t know if he mouthed off after he got yelled at, but atm it doesn´t seem so. This guy on the other hand made silly threats and acted annoyingly. Go figure which one gets more respect in the eyes of community.

Terran: "So everyone said I $#@!ed up a sb run and I just wanted to know, did I? Here's what happened."
Community: "Yeah, you $#@!ed it up, and here's why. Also, take Cadet because it'll teach you all this and more."
Terran: "Thanks guys! I won't do that stupid thing again!"

Chump: "DEFI IS AN @#$%@#!"
Community: "Hey, wtf, who are you? We like Defi, defi's pretty cool."
Chump: "Yeah, well, EndersShadow is a boot-happy noob and you should ban him becuz I said so!"
Community: "O...k...? Who the hell are you?"
Chump: "This community SUCKS! Why are you all such @#$%@#s?"
Community: "GTFO."

See if you can spot what terran did right, and see if you can spot what the chump did wrong!

Terran wanted to learn and was respectful. Chump decided that he was right and that he could treat the community like @#(!.
