OK fixed 1 thing.. now connection problems ***FIXED***

ok so the loading problem i fixed, probably because i didnt SP1 the 1.1 .net ... now im failign to connect to games... witch port does the game aim for?

Windows Version (and Service Packs): Vista SP1
Processor Speed: 2.4GHz Duel Core ~ OC'ed to 3.4GHz
RAM:4GB DDR Dominator by Corsair
Video Card (Make and Model#): 8800GTS Nvidia
Sound Card (Make and Model#):Creative , Sound blaster X-fi Extreme Gamer
Connection Type (Dialup, Cable, DSL, other): Cable
Modem (Make and Model#):
Router (Make and Model#): D-link (Dl-604)
Internet Service Provider(company name):Shaw Cable
Location(State/Province/Locality, and Country):Alberta , Canada
Installed Mods: Siatek joystick

Installed on drive C: , standard location
ok next step.. problem accuring on step 10
"failled to connect to server"
havent tried much need to know what port the game uses so i can open it

Anti-virus will be AVG (clean windows install currently for different reason)
Windows firewall off


dont know of the .net 1.1 hotfix, i got the SP1 on the linky

ok.. so i had to open microft zone ports, (check a box) in router... and ensure to run the game as administator and im running..

Actually, you should not have to open the ports on the router. Close them again and try it. Running ASGS/Allegiance as admin is enough.

Grimm, D-Link routers have a build in firewall, so you need to open ports... :glare:

I wonder if that's specific to some models of D-link routers? I'm running a D-link DIR-655 (reasonably new model, I think). I don't have any special rules that I had to set up in order for Alleg to run. *shrug*

(Just thought I'd toss that out there.)

All D-Link routers have a port rule called 'MSN Gaming Zone'. It's set by default to 'allow', so you don't have to meddle with settings to play Alleg. In this case, someone must've unchecked the rule.

As I also own one of those cheap D-Link routers, I will check it as soon as I am home. I doubt I have those ports open.
