ELO calling vets Newbs!

During a recent game today, Naboki noticed that ELO classified two vets as Newbs. Icegrim and Serebrone.

I am not making this up. Two Vets that ELO is calling newbs. Coincidence?

Well we had finished a game of TF vs IC. The end game stats listed Sere and Ice as having a rank of Newbie. later on the stats corrected and listed just Ice as being newbie. It's probably just a small bug, but a funny one.

Probably just because they really are fairly new, I think those two are graduates of the second-to-last CDT class.

Both are members of Steel Fury. Icegrim has been with us since February and Serebrone joined us in June. AFAIN, neither of them have attended the Cadet course in 2006. Both are veterans.

So, what exactly would change them to newbie then back to veteran?

Possibly some sort of database work regarding ELO was in progress.

Seriously, TE is the guy for ELO. I know it has changed for newbs. He just posted up in the Cadet forum how it works.

Maybe he can post that up here. (hint, hint)
