lol, desperate answers would've been nice, but this is just a game /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Now bout dem probes

I hate when the commander orders to probe up your home, and you'll get booted for probing other sectors...I got booted for probing their OP by our home...now why would you let SBs come in...if you can keep them out in the first place...

I've played Allegiance since it was first repleased. It's pretty much the only computer game play now, and I don't think it sucks at all.

Because the game's locked down in terms of hacking, because the peolpe who played it come back and play more, and because it's dynamic and has a good core following are the reasons I keep coming back.

I'm an older gamer, so I have a different perspective on things. I used to play tons of games. Mostly FPS, but a few RTS and flight sims. Allegiance is the only one I keep coming back to.

My only complaint is that two weeks into getting my Expert rating on the MS Gaming Zone the game was pulled. Now I have to rebuild my old rank, but that's no big deal. I'm just happy the game's around.

I'm just happy to play.

I hate people who don't probe.

Please people, for the love of all that is holy in Allegiance, PROBE.
What? So you don't have to do it? /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

This is not at you Immz, but IMO, those that probe should be the only ones allowed to complain (which I'm sure Immz does do some probing). If you don't like the fact that your team isn't probing, then do something about it. Put up or shut up. Also, no better way than to set an example of how good an overall player you are by getting out there and doing the cruicial jobs.

I spent a whole game probing the other day. Kept on probing no matter what. We lost, badly. Vets probing instead of being on miner/base d/o loses games.

People just take stuff too seriously I think. Except IB, of course.

[*] Okay, in my case, voobs.

Frankly, I think Allegeince is also getting worse, since factions with beautifully modeled and mapped ships get cut out and other, that are really...primitive are left behind (look at you Ga'Taran...their ships look like someone just took a wall texture and slapped it on their ships with no UV mapping).
I know what I' m talking about, I've been modeling and modding for years and years.

From a non-technical standpoint I don't see much change. Sure, a lot of newbies suck and a lot of people in the team don't listen even to the simplest commands. Methinks it's also because commanders get too lenient. They don't crack the whip often enough.

Uh yeah. We were better off before 'nix.

If you've been modelling for years and years and years, stop complaining and start helping. Nobody was paid to create the GT models, while the 'nix models were purchased and slapped onto a unbalanced and buggy faction.

Would love to, but ATM I'm working on 5 different project. Really eats up my modding time.
I can however donate lower LOD version of some ships/fighters I have...gots loads of them on my HDD.

But that still doesn't adress the important question - why reduce the number of factions when you got good models? And, if you are kicking out a faction, why not kick out the worst looking models (not factions)?
It shouldn't be a big problem to simply replace the Phoenix and Ga'Taran models and then remove the "nix", thus leaving the Ga'Taraan with Nix models.
Atm, what's done just seems a bit...backwards. You usually want to keep the good looking stuff IN the game.

As to the teamwork, yes, it is sadly lacking lately.

I've seen commanders begging for someone to go probe a system or defend a miner. Yes, some jobs aren't ALWAYS fun, but are ESSENTIAL.
Zipping around in your fighter/int while two systems away your team is desperately defending a miner/outpost - NOT cool.
K, those in a int have some level of excuse - "I can't get back in time" - but it still doesn't answer what they were doing there in the first place.
But those in fighters can ripcord for crying out loud!

IMHO, commanders should be more strict, but it's not easy when you're outnumber to kick players out.

afaik phoenix was removed because they needed the core slots for the new faction (omicron hive) and removing phoenix also avoided any legal conflicts for using phoenix models.
