This.

I think someone said it before (Andon?). You have my credit, also.

Spidey covered my main response to that (I'd elaborate further, but I think it'd be better if this thread stayed on topic, and figure that realism debates about aspects of gameplay unrelated to the changes being proposed in this thread have already been done a hundred times over in these forums at some point or another)

But hey - care to follow some of your own advice re: thinking before talking? Or would that just be too hypocritical? /glare.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":glare:" border="0" alt="glare.gif" />

quackdamnyou wrote:QUOTE (quackdamnyou @ Aug 6 2008, 01:03 PM) If we do this can we have helium levels update without docking? I heard the technical argument against this way back when but thought I'd see if it might be possible as part of this change. Have them update whenever you hover over the sector on minimap? Kind of a nice trade-off for the miner offense whores.
Seconded. It's frustrating to fly to a sector I anticipate miners to go to next only to find on entry that it's been mined out. Sure I could have docked and search F3 before I set out but I don't always have time for that.

I agree with KGJV that these should be options for core developers (if possible). I don't agree that the Game Settings is an appropriate place to place this option. We can debate and do polls and try out different combinations as community core develops.

What would be really good would be if abstain counted as abstain instead of no.

People just take stuff too seriously I think. Except IB, of course.

1 and 2 are some great ideas. Always seemed weird to me how you could get information without doing any in game effort for it.

I'm just afraid that they will leave before they eat me alive. Another 3-6 months and you might be gone for a better life without alleg.

If it helps, I never really took advantage of the current system anyway.

Doesn't make sense and seems stupid.

I like em. I always thought it was stupid that you can see where the enemy is mining by watching the he3 levels (and building by watching rocks disappear), even if that sector wasn't probed. Makes it freaking impossible to mine (or sneak into a back sector) when you're playing against a team that has somebody who is watching this and acts on it. If they aren't probing, they shouldn't know WTF you're doing.

This will actually make commanding a lot less of a headache, because you'll actually be able to hide your miners for once.
