I've had 2 older Extreme 3D Logitech's. Rudder control went out on both of them. I tried them on different computers, calibrated, and everything I could think of. Rudder fluttered wildly, favoring one direction. I didn't play alleg then, but it rendered them useless for flight sims. I now use a Saitek ST290 (Cheap) It's okay, but I don't like it's light base.

Well guys don't bother with the Saitek St290 Pro either, I had one of those when I played Targetware, and the thing works great for about 3 months, then it slowly starts getting loose till one day 4 months later when the handle falls completely off the base :(

40 I'm not exactly sure what usd is, but I think you need to shop elsewhere for your next stick.

I feel dumb, think I'll get more coffee before I post anywhere else on here.

The twist handle has absolutely no dead-zone in the default settings, and is hyper sensitive... but it's enormously easy to fix.

The beautiful and user friendly configuration software let's one adjust the dead zone from 0 to 100% (5% is enough). One can even choke the range of motion a bit, so one doesn't have to twist the stick so much when one wants to roll the ship.

Stick is a bit too stiff for great accuracy, but other than that it's a gem... especially for it's price!

The Freedom 2.4 (i think it's 2.4) version of this stick is a bit stiff to start with, but once broken in...it's sweet! I have been making some adjustments to the dead zone on mine, and it definitely improves flight control. The profile software alone makes their products worth it for me with the ability to make the fine tuning adjustments. it's really about finding your comfort zone.
