Bought one, didn't like it, tried to force myself to get used to it and couldn't. Boxed the bitch up.

I have a M/S Sidewinder right now, I used to have a logitech extreme 3D pro, but I broke it.

By the way, where can you buy the heavy base one online? I can't seem to find it after a short minute of googling.

neotoxin wrote:QUOTE (neotoxin @ Jul 27 2008, 10:58 PM) The ONLY problem I had with it was the hat keys: they don't function individually, as Alleg reads each direction as a single key. I know there's a fix to it, but until I can figure it out (and find a low enough surface to not get carpal tunnel, the stick is about a foot high from the base) then I'm not gonna play with it.
Figured it out!

While helping said friend configure the stick, I found a way to bind the side/up/down thrusters to the POV hat so that diagonal thrust works properly.

There is a box one can tick in the stick's software, that is called something like "use hat for FPS movement". Check this box, and bind numpad-4, numpad-8 and so forth to the up, down, left and right of the main directions of the POV-hat. Check that allegiance has the numpad keys for thrusters, and voilà!

What a great stick!!! It even has a ready profile for Allegiance in it's software /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":iluv:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" />

Oh, snap fuzz. I can't even remember where I got it...let me check the box to see if I still have any kind of invoice.

Don't have the invoice, but I did find it at Amizon

Re-calibration doesn't help? The software looks like it should handle that easily. If nothing else, then just twist it slightly to the right when giving the "center" position while calibrating. Alternatively increase the dead zone.

Still impressed with this.
