How about Scout drones that nan the hell out of the miner. Make the miner pretty weak but let them have up to 4 scout drones, give them a nan gun and have them 'attack' the miner.
Edit: Maybe give said scout drones energy recharge rate > nan energy consumption /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />
This way, you buy a cheap miner that is worm food when it has no D or no scout drones. And since this is a turret faction you can't have too many people on miner D.
Faction: Omicron Hive
I was expecting generic zerg @#(!, but was rather pleasantly surprised after reading the short story. Also I like the models, at least. They look like they'd fit with the style of allegiance. Unlike dreg.
Yay turrets.
Yay turrets.
I think a single, weak turret drone to follow it around would be better. 4 nans on a miner at all times seems a little excessive, and would make it impossible to solo a miner before help arrives, don't you think?Death3D wrote:QUOTE (Death3D @ Jul 15 2008, 11:37 PM) How about Scout drones that nan the hell out of the miner. if the nan drone thing gets put in, make it require upgrade garrison and a techbase.
is the turret on an int gonna be the same as one mini? if so, that is tremendously underpowered

apoch, the omicrons, in a vile attempt to corrupt their enemeis.. often would deploy nan drones that wopuld nan their enemeis as they blew through alephs into a waiting omicron devastatah
this would often unsettle the enemeis, distubring visuals of blue halos and the red psi cflak clouds would fill the visor of such enemies, often they would lose their minds, quickly ramming rocks
yep

Technically true, but sf is probably going to run out of energy before nansDeath3D wrote:QUOTE (Death3D @ Jul 17 2008, 12:21 AM) Not at all. Utl2 with some kb can outnan like 3 nan1s (iirc), specially with a low hp miner like I'm proposing. Also, nothing stops you from killing the nans before hand. They're drones that don't attack you. They're just Extra miner Hull GA, for weirdos.

Nan drones can exist since R4's Training Mission 7. As long as the drone is marked as a 'Fighting Drone' in the core and has a nan default mounted in slot 1, then it will nan the target. Granted, it'll constantly nan the target, regardless of whether it needs to or not, but it will. I just tested it, as well, to be certainapochboi wrote:QUOTE (apochboi @ Jul 28 2008, 07:14 AM) There is no NAN drone. That sort of stuff is a code change.
