We should be making changes to improve gameplay mechanics. Removing TT as a prereq for HTT grants further advantage to an already very powerful tech path. I don't see a valid reason for doing this.
And the problem with swapping bbr for TT as the required tech?

Because you don't need an exp complex for it, and therefore you can partial it from the start of the game. And therefore bios can still get HTTs in under 20 mins. Its still a buff, just a smaller one.
And like whiskey said, bombers are more useful than TT. Thus, still a buff.
So do you have a valid reason for it other than it looks pretty in F5 or that it satisfies some notion of symetry for you?

I think so. The reason is that TT's are (almost) useless and just a speed bump on the way to HTT's.

If you remove TTs you could make HTTs a pre for EMP missiles which would add the time back for the research and make HTT without EMP usable with ints. Of course that ends up being effectively the same as the current situation.
Spidey: Can't think of a reason I'd need to know anything

I think Raveen got the solution.
This way the TT is removed from the workflow without changing the dynamic in any way.
The only question is, does this give Rix and TF an even bigger advantage than they already have with HTTs ? Seeing how they don't need to research emp missiles anyway and can use HTT to blow what they don't cap.

TF uses a special EMP cannon (shields only one that is a gun alternative to the missiles), it's only Rix that would benefit from it
