I'd be in favor of removing XRM, but a price is a good alternative.

Some comments on different ideas:

Price: The good part of having a price is that the power of XRM is directly dependent on team sizes(since $500/ bomber is barely an issue most of the time). The more bombers you use, the stronger XRM is and with a price, the more bombers that are used, the stronger the nerf would be. The issue about XRM has a lot to do with a scaling problem and the price nerf idea has the advantage of scalling too.

TP2: My favorite idea, comming from the guy who mentionned that sbs and htts were stealthy while bombers were not:
Remove XRM and make TP2 stealthier. I'm not saying to make tp2 stealthy, but they currently have a sig of 1000%, which means that any random EWs1 probe dropped by mistake will eye the tp1 if it's under a 5k range(a standard tech base would spot it farther than 30k away). If TP2 had a sig of about 300-500%, it'd be easier to make uneyed tp2 drops and you could rip in 2 AC3/AB3 bombers with gunners and mass nans without having to worry about a camp at the aleph.

It could make it stronger when combined with HTT/sbs, but Lyk had a good point about being able to end games... If a team gets both tp2 and sbs and can manage to get an uneyed tp2 15k from the tech base, then i thnik they deserve to win

I think DrB had it on the head. You have your long range missiles (all except xrm) in the sy tree anyway. Y not just put the xrm there also. and yes make them buy med class to get them, hell they may just say screw the xrm and nuke the bases!!!

i am strongly against making tp2 stealthier. if there is anything needing a buff, is the brain of your average voob. the tech is already powerful, there is no need to overpower it

Errr, guess what ... it actually used to be like that before the dev team in their infinite wisdom decided to fix the code so that it didnt happen anymore.

Back in those days you never had any idea how many bombers you could rip in before the probe would randomly pop, it might have been 1 or 10 bombers, it was always a gamble. Now, providing the probe survives, its entirely possible to rip your whole team to one.

No more randomly popping tp2 probes AND xrm ab is what makes the whole strat insanely powerful and almost impossible to stop.

IB was obviously kidding about the tp2 randomly exploding(Only the devs ever though about that idea /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> )

Evincar, My suggestion of making TP2 stealthier was linked to the removal of XRM. I really don't see how you could see the whole as a buff to tp2...
I'm actually more interested in getting rid of XRM than making tp2 stealthier, but I just though that most would disagree with a XRM removal without any new buff to tp2 to counter it. If we could remove XRM and keep tp2 the way it is, I would like it a lot, but I don't think the idea would get a lot of support(cause it really makes sup a more viable tech path).

Removing XRM altogether and leaving TP1/2 like they are sounds good. (See earlier post about XRM cruise, if we need long range missiles for bombers).

Sorry for the necro. I know CC02 raised the cost of XRM to 100/rack, but Brood made a good point on the Dreg He thread:

It was nice to have no XRM that game because with teams of 30+ it would have been simply impossible to stop so kudos to Aarm for not going down that route and making me match.
Let's take XRM out entirely. Figbees make for more epic bomb runs.
