Lt. hull will certainly make bombing more interesting. Teams won't be so quick to give up when the opponent gets hvy/mg2.

+1 voice in favour of lite hull ints. It's definitely worth a go.

Whilst in principle I'm open to nerfing ints to a certain extent, it would be a stupid thing for the CC to do before it gets established.

It would be stupid to do it at any point. It's not like other cores are just going to go away.

Not that I'm in favor of ints lt hull but where was it written that we have to please everyone all the time with any change we ever make to a core? At some point the devs will have to make decisions that some peeps don't like, does that mean everytime they do that someone is gonna start whining : Baaaaaaaah you nerfed my favorite ship and now I'm gonna boycot the CC core. I don't care if it's better balanced (or an attempt at it) you nerfed my favorite ship so I'm gonna whine and bitch and moan on NOAT for everyone to change cores (remember the old core wars Spunky vs Noir (or should I say SYSX vs Xt /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> ) where some peeps did nothing but bitch on NOAT for peeps to change cores until enough newbs believed them and they changed servers?)

we might as well make 5 different cores so all peeps can play thier favorite ueber ship : Madp Fig Core, Pook Scout core, Shiz int core, Music Bomb core and Champy SF core. Then we put an autoboot-filter in the game that automatically boots anyone that mentions another core in a games lobby. Good solution?

now STFU and don't whine until you've tried out whatever they come up with, then feel free to whine on the forums if you disagree but STFU about it in the lobby plz and go play DN <----- rant not directed at TA btw /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" /> oldtimers like me are still annoyed about the spunkmeier wars /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Well you know this thread was inquiring about how powerful the expansion tech path is. I'm sure the power thats being referred to isn't the He3 or Base Hull/Shield GA's. We are definately talking about the interceptor.

I'm honestly indifferent as to whether or not Light Hull Interceptors make it into the community core or not. I'll play where everybody plays regardless. I just don't understand why everybody is getting all huffy about the thought of even testing it. Are we afraid that the majority of people here might actually like the change and ask for it to be implemented permanently?

I thought I would try to make a compromise in the suggestion. How do you make Interceptors both more fun to fly and get them to not be so much of a wrecking force (and lets be honest - just plain ridiculously strong versus other ships).

By the way, what is the purpose of this community core? I thought it might have something to do with listening to all sides and perhaps testing theories. I kind of got excited when I heard about this and thought that maybe it would be based on what the larger demographic of Allegiance players might like to see in a core.

It is, but we dont want to throw in massive changes straight away in the very first release. So at this moment in time these threads dont serve much of a purpose rather than throwing up ideas for a future release. Of course we will look at these ideas when we come around to doing larger changes in the core. Personally I was against giving them light hull for one reason. Belter Enh/Adv Fighters would then become the new interceptor in allegiance since they have more hull.

Yes we could probably rebalance them too, but as I said when we come around to it, it will be properly polled to the community and we will no doubt release a beta test version of the change for the community to test and play and see how much the game dynamic has changed with the hull class change.

Untill then yes throw around ideas, just dont expect huge things in the first release.

Fair enough. Thanks for straightening that out.
