Stats mean nothing if teams and comms were uneven or if 1 team "doctors" the settings in its favour. If you wanna find out which factions are unbalanced versus other factions then check out which factions are used in the majority of squadgames /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Surely commander ability is a variable that can be ironed out by a larger sample size - in much the same way that the skill of the teams is considered to be.

Except that good commanders usually have a self-selecting bias towards certain factions and tech paths. Put this way, if the Tier I commanders played TF exclusively, TF would have a pretty impressive win rate regardless of the merits of the faction. Certain factions may draw certain types of commanders (Phoenix *cough cough*).

The faction win table shows correlation but it doesn't show causation. Is <faction of the week> good because it's a good faction, or is it good because good commanders like it, or do good commanders like it because it is a good faction?

The beauty of the Community Core is we really shouldn't need stats to work on changing the core. Stats dont mean too much and we cannot measure stats in that sort of detial. So the community core will rely on community feedback and will also rely on us, the people working on the core. I believe that sort of information is far more valuable than "omg bios has a 56% win ratio vs gigacorp" sort of stuff.
