I remember the discussion that led to the comparison there. I think it was actually something like, "Being a comander is like playing StarCraft except the AI is idiotic and your units hate you." Because the Miners were even more stupid then than they are now. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Seeing that in there was a little piece of awesome. Actually, I thought the whole piece really captured a good chunk of the atmosphere of the Allegiance game here. Nice article, BackTrack, I'm glad you could slip this in for the issue -- it definitely fits the theme nicely and works well with the other articles.
I usually read bits and pieces of the Escapist on my own, but in this case, I actually got pointed to it by my friend Erin Hoffman -- if you're interested in the industry side of the game industry, her "Inside Job" articles on the Escapist are excellent reads. And those regarding overtime, and how much of it there is in this business, are entirely too accurate (hence my disappearance). /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Anyways, she knew what was coming in the issue and gave me the heads up, and I figured it would be good to let you guys in on it, too.
I'll try to show for a few more squad games in the future, but for the most part play time during the week is out these days.
