Go balistic on the team for not probing. How the hell did all those heavy ints get in the mining sector unnoticed?

Because heavy ints are stealthy if they don't boost.

Fixed.

If those hvy ints knew exactly where to go the minute they arrived in sector, and no scouts turned up, then either someone's feeding info, or you haven't de-probed!

They may be able to see you're mining that sector, but no reason they should be able to spot the miner itself.

And I guess in Chrono's example, at least you'd make just shy of 4k that trip (ignoring re-build time), rather than the overall loss as suggested.

The other question is how close to a friendly aleph was it? If the heavies really are coming in eyeless, then you could just get the miner out to another safe sector.

Most of the time, I'd send the miner to the ref, but obviously, there's no point if it's empty.

Well, the miner makes almost twice as much back as it was worth (7290 a minerload as opposed to 4000 for a miner), you don't want to waste the minerload AND the miner if you can help it. IF the miner was full, which wasn't apparent from Sushi's post.

When will miners have fill gauges so we can make informed decisions? That would be swell...

I was deliberately vague on some details. It helps expand the discussion. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Thank you...I have always asked that question myself when on miner nan. I mean, yeah you get an idea of how long it's mining, and watch the "gauges" on the rock, but it seems that some level of measurement could be displayed in order for quick reference. i have absolutely no idea how it could be done, but it is a thought that has crossed my mind.

Once you get good enough its 2nd nature to just know how full a miner is from how long its been on the rock etc
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.

you can also look at how far along the bar is for a full rock, then look how empty the miner got it's rock (though that isn't as versatile as the previous method, unless you know how full the miner's rock was before it started mining)
