On April 26, 2008, Operation Crystal Sphere will commence. The Colonial Fleet will assault a secret Cylon base far beyond the Red Line.

Because many people are unfamiliar with the core, I have created a general Battlestar Galactica Core Guide. It covers the ships, bases and technology of the Cylons and Colonials. Feel free to write up anything additional that you wish to be included and connect to it on the page linked (A basic piloting guide would be helpful, to name an example). If you have any questions on the core, feel free to ask me

There will also be a new version of the core out, version 0.33A, for the event. This fixes several issues with 0.32F. Changes can be seen Here - If you know of an issue that is not covered in that, please post it. If you know something about the core that could potentially cause issues with the server, please send me a private message IMMEDIATELY. I have fixed the known issues with BSG crashing servers, however, you can never be too safe.

May I suggest you make the manual part of the wiki ?
As people learn playing the BSG core, they would be able to quickly pass on what they've learned.
Also, a wiki page for suggestions to changes to the core would help speed development and debugging

You cannot play God and then wash your hands of the things that you've created. Sooner or later, the day comes when you can't hide from the things that you've done anymore! You can continue as a coward, hiding! or STAND AND FIGHT THAT WICH YOU HAVE CREATED!!!!!!

Nice one Andon, tried the core on my own and i love the models for both sides, the only thing i noticed was i could (For the Colonial Fleet) fly through the tunnel on the carrier without going into the small cutscene of being auto launched and without getting rearmed and repaired. ( makes a good hiding spot /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />)

but apart from that very good

That carrier bit is intentional. You can also hit any part of the landing bay and 'land' - makes it a bit more interesting, at least cinematically

Will we not be able to play until the event? I tried to start up a server, but it doesn't look like any of the big 3 are hosting it at the moment.

This core is a lot of fun though guys, I'm looking forward to this. One concern though, doesn't the allege engine get a little furry when too many ships are moving too fast? I seem to remember hearing this was an issue with EOR.

Well, we will see. That is one reason that I'm having an event - It should be balanced enough for good play, but it will also bring out any issues that I still need to address.

Also, none of the big three have it up yet, and it's not on AU ATM, but I do have a download (link) and a server on the beta lobby up

just had another quick go again today on the beta, this time going for the caps and again good models, but not as fun by yourself, but i also noticed ,just saying, there was no image for "build sy" and do the capships also serve as carriers? noticed the tunnels on either side
