You're wrong, that's what it's all about. Newbies love nix because of the ship models.

sgt_baker wrote:QUOTE (sgt_baker @ Apr 9 2008, 05:15 PM) During that game I saw three newbs follow a bomber to their home. I asked (shouting) on team chat what they were up to. The scouits claim to be probing. Next thing I see is six pods floating in their home. I can only surmise that it was a failed nan-run. *facepalmhead$#@!ARRRRHK*

That game wasn't pretty.
Funny thing was that the one who awnsered he was probing wasn't in that sector, but actualy probing a rip reciever next to one of our sectors (and I should know, because I was all alone...)

I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.

-Cool name "Phoenix"
-awesome ship models
-super-awesome sheilds and Med Assault Sheild
-Awesome tranceiver tech (eg Vulicans, Laser Blossoms, Laser Cannon)
-Awesome Vanguards that RIP ANY OTHER SMALL SHIP IN A COUPLE OF SECONDS WITH 2 MINI AC'S (stronger with MINI AC 3!!!!!!)
-Good Miner yeild
-stronger scan range to make scouting easier (I think I might have known that when Iwas a biiiig noob maybe not)
-Awesome bases (althought they are BIOS models)
-Cheat technology: NOVA BOMBS!!!!!!!!!!! MUA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!

I have commed phoenix quite a few times, and ive -never- gone the Nova Bomb route (and ive only gone Vans once, after being endlessly pestered by my team for them). Usually, if your team is not full of suck, Transciever tech is usually enough to win the game. If your team is full of suck, it wont matter since there would be no way there would be enough cash to get anything big and powerful anyway.

I usually comm under sane settings, though.

I might add that there is heavy emphasis on salvage. Not as much as Belters, but vulcans, laser blossoms, and laser cannons all require technologies from two seperate tech bases, Vulcans and Laser Cannons requiring Supremacy and Tactical and Laser Blossoms requiring Expansion and Tactical, which means its best for the comm to research one route while salvaging tech from the other routes. Of course, going multiple routes is an option, but in most games every credit saved matters.
