You should follow the READ ME FIRST post and fill out the template so that we can help you.

In all probability, the update pushed a .NET update that messes up Allegiance.

Filled out the template. So, your advice would be to reinstall the .nte framework 1.0?

Side note: I was born in Fredericton and lived about 10 years in N.B. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

Cool side note. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" /> I'm in the Fredericton area. You're in the Montreal area now? (I was born in the Montreal area.)

Here's a little Background Information that might be of some help. It's unclear if that's your problem, as your error message isn't the same (but running a different language base can do this).

Check first if you have .Net 2.0 SP1 installed. If you do, then follow those instructions to purge the .Net stuff. Then reinstall 1.1, SP1 for .Net 1.1 and the hotfix (which is accessed through Windows Update). It's ok to install .Net 2.0 but NOT the SP1 for 2.0. If you don't need 2.0, don't bother. I'm also not convinced that you need SP1 for 1.1 as I don't think I have it and I run Alleg just fine (however, the standard practice is to install 1.1's SP1). Make sure you reboot between each step. Yeah.. it's a pain in the ass, but usually very necessary.

If you don't have 2.0 SP1 installed you can ignore the removal stuff and we'll have to look for another solution.

Did you install the C++ runtimes? That may also be a source of the trouble.

edit: added last bit and geography lesson.

The Allegiance installer only provides the english c++ runtimes, your system is french. You need to download the french C++runtimes.

Just tried the french C++ runtime, didn't work. Purging my .net frameworks right now.

No, I'm not from Montreal, I live in Quebec city atm. My parents are from montreal, though. ZOMG, we've come full circle /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

Although, to be fair, I lived in the north Of New Brunswick (villages called Bertrand, near Caraquet, and in Shippagan (near nowhere important enough to be of any help)) for most of the time, and I was extremely eager to come live here. I dunno, I don't like small towns. Quebec is just the righ size: all the services of a big city, but none of the problems (traffic, pollution, and crime are all extremely low. Heck, until recently we had gone more then a year without a single murder... and there are 600,000 inhabitants!)
