3.0 is installed in my system. I have tried clean up tools and everything to remove this but it doesnt give the option to remove in add/remove.

Im on vista premium sp1.

I even tried the prerelease removal tool from 3.0 and that won't work.

I get error code 0xc000007b when trying to run ASGS

A convoluted solution is to uninstall SP1, install .NET, install SP1, uninstall .NET.

I think ogo knows a better solution, so I'll wait for him to post it.

Did you try the tool from pkk's link? It's the defacto solution.

You've installed SP1 for Vista, which comes with .NET 3.5 bundled with it. The problem is, that this .NET 3.5 from SP1 is not visible under the Programs and Functions list in Control Panel, thus removing it is sort of troublesome. Quite frankly, we are still to discover method that allows removal of that after the SP1 was applied. Solution will be posted in the sticky regarding .NET 3.5 in this forum as soon as it is found and confirmed to be working and safe.

Just in case... Two Weeks is sorta an inside joke.

What he means to say, is that they are actively working on it and it should be out soon.

Your current problem is purely software related. Although, I have bad news: nVidia managed to brake something in their newer drivers (100.xx and upwards), that makes Alleg get really bad FPS. You might want to grab 97.xx from their site (I believe that was teh latest version with no problems). Unless you get lucky, like some other lucky people did, wth 174.xx series (it was supposed to fix the problem with older games, but apparently not for all).

*By really bad FPS I mean 40 with regular drops to 10 on 8600 GS on 1024x800.
