I will try the driver. Thanks for posting the link, Immz. The one I found was for the g92 only.

Really? Did you uninstall the older (as in newer) one first? This driver definitely fixed the problem for me.

Wasp has a post in the helpline about how to completely uninstall the drivers, that may help you. I did not have to do that but I did notice, even with uninstalling the nVidia drivers, WinXP still has a 'built in' driver for the card (beyond just the generic VGA driver). Wasp's suggestion would likely resolve that as well. Just make sure you don't hose your system.

I feel for you. I was SO disappointed when I installed this card and Alleg played like crap. The card was an Xmas gift.

I uninstalled the drivers and installed the 167.26 drivers. Doing the same with the <100 drivers worked wonders.
I can forget about playing Allegiance atm. 10-30 FPS is not enough in dogfights, bomb runs, etc.
Damn, the 6600GT is way better than that. I can play BF2 with a better frame rate.

The rest of my parts for my new computer arrive today, with only the tower case to still arrive from back order. I am really hoping that my new cards work well for me.

Uninstall your current drivers and use DriverCleaner on it. Only then, install the older drivers.

Doggy, did you fix the yellow box problem?

Eventually I will be upgrading my PC, probably within a year. I'd be pretty pissed if a brand new video card wasn't able to play Allegiance as well as my 6800GS... this is the only game I play on a regular basis on my PC...

You say Vista doesn't have this problem, though? Even the yellow box thing?

I don't think ATI's HD 3000 series has any problems with alleg. But all I tested was in training mission using vista business 64-bit and single HD 3870. Tested with fraps running and still, as expected, didn't cause the fps to drop. I'll have to do more testing in the next week or two and report back.

Follow the steps outlined in this thread http://www.freeallegiance.org/forums/index...showtopic=38353 and replace step 1 with the drivers of your choice.

Note: If your video card is older, look for a driver that was issued around 6 months after it's manufacture date. Usually there is a gap beyond that date showing that the driver was stable for that period.

For newer cards, try the latest drivers but follow my steps BY THE NUMBERS before you decide your new drivers are crap. I can't count the numbers of people I've helped get their graphics working properly after they've completely given up.
