Comments (What you tried, description, etc):
Well, I just installed the program, played the tutorials, and then figured out that I had to use ASGS to play online, but when I double-clicked on the shortcut I receved the received the error message that I already mentioned. I've tried multiple times to start it but it has been to no avail. I also tried disabling the Firewall that came with our Norton Protection Center software...that did no help at all. So basically, I just need help to figure out what I need to do to be able to play this game online. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ASGSClient.exe does not start...produces an error

You have a net framework issue that others have also dealt with.
Please uninstall any versions of net framework then run the cleanup tool to completely remove all versions of the net framework that remains and then reinstall the net framework 1.1 and the service pack 1. Avoid installing the 3.5 framework from windows update until this problem is fixed.

thanks a lot. As soon as it all finishes downloading I will try it out. I wonder if it could be causing problems in a few other games I have right now...Supreme Commander and Sacred...I've tried using their multiplayer features recently and they haven't been working.

Same problem, did those steps, and it still doesn't work...
There's also a Service Pack for 1.1 and a hotfix. Get those as well. Make sure you reboot several times. (Once per install is usually sufficient.) I recommend a full power-down/power up reboot cycle... it really does help reset the hardware parts. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />
edit: I believe you get the hotfix through Windows Update.

Thankfully this problem will be resolved with an update to ASGS within the next month.

Uninstall Norton. Don't just disable it, UNINSTALL it completely. Then run this Norton cleanup tool
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_u ... l_Tool.exe
Then follow the steps I listed above.
