and their miner paydays are'nt the only thing they have double of:

Faction Perks
Strong hull(1.0) and shield(1.1)
Strong station shield and hull (1.1)
Cheap tech cost(.8)
Scouts able to mount Gatt and Nan at the same time
Palisade provided for a cheap ungalvable base, also doubles as a Garrison
Extra tech provided by the Research(pulse laser, HTT armor plating, Gauss gun etc.)
Miners offload at tech bases
Available Harbringer of Doom

Faction weakness
Lack of refineries may anger some people
Slow He speed(.8)
Missile track nerfed(.9)
Slower ripcord(.9)
Perks>"weakness"
And DON'T get me started on stangs...

Usually when u say "paydaying something" it means getting stuff when you have 0 miners. Thus mining is not paydaying.

HoD is hard to get but some people tend to go for it /ninja.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ninja:" border="0" alt="ninja.gif" />

And stangs are the ship that is the doom for 90% of the comms.

I like GT. Their econ and their ability to push cons gives your team the same advantage as tf scouts used to be for TF.

Anyways, we can't go overboard with nerfing GT. Due to how its mining is set up, it naturally favors smaller maps such as hihiger. Other factions have some good perks themselves, though gt cheese seems to be easier to use (pretty much the same argument that was raised with dis3 aoe - cheese as defined by tech set against the skill level).

Small nerf to the econ would make sense, but taking to much away from GT will make it an utterly bland faction. Though I do like GTs versatality and given that miners unload at everyting right now and the cheesines of the pali (large con and spare gar /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doh:" border="0" alt="doh.gif" /> ) it makes comming GT a very enjoyable experience.

Anecdotal examples of how GT pwned or got pwned doesn't really mean much.

In conclusion:
pali from large con to small con + no gar
tech cost 0.8 -> 0.9
and lets see what happens
We all remember the history of changes done to IC and how even a small nerf to the econ, or perk to the econ, can make an enormous difference
ICs probably about right now I believe

and even if GT is unbalanced a bit, damn belters are damn hard to kill

1) You mean "miner loads" not paydays. Paydays are a little bit of cash ($600 is standard including GT) that you get each minute.
2) A full GT miner brings 7.2k. Just like IC, Belters, Rix, and Bios. With both he upgrades all of these factions can get around 8.7k per miner. Giga can get 9k withough any upgrades if there's enough He3 on the rock.
3) No faction has 3.5k full miner loads. TF is the lowest with $3960 per miner load.

2) I seem to remember playing Giga a little while ago, and their paydays were NOT 9k.

anyway, I thought of some nerfs that are'nt mega drastic but will make things fair...


Stang Nerf:

1) Take their medshield away. as it is now, they are pretty much in the same class as a belters omni-fighter. only with med shield, which upsets everything.

2) make them an end game tech(not really a nerf) Basically, make it so you have to get ADV figs(or Hvy ints, Adv Stealths or any endgame ship, or all three!) and Gunships, before you can get stangs, this will force poeple to acually Use Regular stuff.


Econemy Nerf will come later.

Full giga miners get 9k, try telling them to mine more rocks once they finish on one.

As Para says, rarely is a Giga miner fully loaded, you can usually mine 2 rocks per miner, though if it's in a sector with a ref, it's just as easy to let them mine 1 rock at a time.
n.b. I may not see a forum post replied to me or a pm sent to me for weeks and weeks...

Stangs are good as they are. You need pali starbase and RS and that's for ac1 stangs. How easy it is for GT to get adv exp is more the problem because they also get great HTTs.

1. GT doesn't have gses.

2. What $#@!ing idiot would fly stangs when you have adv tech? You get adv tech to COMPLETELY stomp into the ground, annihliate, GSes and stangs. Unless you are doing something creative and lets say you went tac and got stangs for D (haven't seen that done in a couple of months now). That is why stangs are the doom of novice comms.

OOooo big shipzzzzz, lemme get stangs and nothing else!!!!

The other comm-with-a-clue gets hvy ints.

Stangs go SPLAT for even a single hvy int can pod a turreted fat cow that cannot turn nor accelerate.

The stang team gets whored on. #resign

NOT GETTING ANYTHING ELSE BUT STANGS WILL LOSE YOU THE GAME, unless you are playing on the newbie server and the other comm didn't go capships for a change but instead rushed special mines and is thinking he is playing sim city 3000 in space by building all these KOOL stuff on those shiny droids!

In conclusion, PLEASE make stangs even cheaper. The moment I see the other comm rushing pali and res, I know I'm and my team is in for something good.

PS. The only decent stangs I have ever seen were sponsored by spidey and cost over 130k!

Im at work. This is how I feel about my current work (new job starting this monday) and also this is a fantastic pic that will finally bring some real value to this thread.
