get a reticule (and hud) that let you see what/where you are shooting!
i use "the man" as a reticule, i use it because it is big enough to notice when it appears to tell me i'm roughly in range, but small enough for me to look where my bullets are (aim with your bullets, ignore the colour change of the reticule, watch your bullets!)
i use my thingauge mod so i can always see my enemy (i got annoyed one time when someone hid behind my health bar etc so i couldn't see if i was hitting them or not)
try side thrusting and shooting a friendly probe, try and keep your fire on the probe at all times, change side thrust direction every few seconds to another one randomly chosen at 90 deg to your current movement (i.e. don't do left-right-left, do left-up-down-left-down-right etc)
don't use the default keymap, (i've got mine posted in my blog if you want to see what i use)
never aim with just the keyboard
play training mission 6 until you can do an infinate number of waves of enemys.
reload when you are not in a fight (e.g. right after a fight reload - never go into a fight without a full clip of ammo, unless you have no more ammo to re-fil your clip with)
hey BV/whoever is running it, you can use my 1/3 finished sup guide in the advanced cadet course if you want /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

But if somebody's behind your health bar, and since you can only fire straight ahead, your bullets wouldn't be blocked by him.madpeople wrote:QUOTE (madpeople @ Sep 21 2007, 11:09 PM) i use my thingauge mod so i can always see my enemy (i got annoyed one time when someone hid behind my health bar etc so i couldn't see if i was hitting them or not)

If your target doesn't know your coming for them then get up close and personal, especially if you are in an int. Don't fire your first shot until you have them filling your screen, and then let fly. In a fur ball, most players won't realize thier targeted until they get that first hit. If you are firing from far out, you might only damage them enough to make them realize that you're on thier case.
What you really want is the ol' two on one Ménage a Trios of ass whuppin'. Look for someone under attack from your team mate and go for them first. See Camaro's int whorin' guide for more info about that.
If they are coming at you/have you targeted, and you know that you're about to get served, run away. Try to at least run in the direction of your nearest base so if you get drilled your pod ride will be shorter.

Use Pooky's "Z" Reticule if you're a badass like me. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
Or The Finger. Oh the joy of podding annoying people with that one /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Use something your comfortable with, just don't try to attack anyone with an @PK, @PK or @PK tag. It's probably Drizzo.
