I don't want to see "unknown chat". I don't want to see the silly text, let alone hear it.
I think it could be something like the censor filter. Would it be possible to filter out the whole chat line of "unknown chat" which includes the person's name? Of course you have have it toggleable right by where the other filters are.

oh, i just really hated hearing the voice chats from one of the chat packs, but i was interested in what they said.TheBored wrote:QUOTE (TheBored @ Jul 20 2007, 08:23 PM) Um. Possible I suppose. Part of the reason people don't install chat packs though is so we DON'T see what each of the new packs say.
i suppose i could have just download the chat pack and not use the .wav s with it.
but then they have them all re-arranged :/
but maybe i could mod it so they don't feature in my vc menu. like the "their pursuing energy"
... could be effort i don't want to do now, but it is an option.

i think people just forgot about that ^^, i was going to comment "didn't someone add some useful ones, or just talk about it at least"
someone may go and include it in a new vc pack.

This is an extension of the censor filter. If someone spams "Giggity giggity giggity giggity.", you won't see or hear a thing.BeaerSidhe wrote:QUOTE (BeaerSidhe @ Jul 22 2007, 10:46 AM) I don't want to see "unknown chat". I don't want to see the silly text, let alone hear it.

Maybe some of us didn't download it because we don't want to hear poor quality tv show sounds every 5 seconds.Seymor wrote:QUOTE (Seymor @ Jul 21 2007, 07:37 PM) I request that unknown chat be sent twice so it's twice as annoying, either that or make it twice as big. Then maybe people will whine so much that they run out of whines and just end up living with it or downloading the voice pack.

wouldn't adding them to the censor just make it display as "%^$$#^ %^$$#^ %^$$#^ %^$$#^ %^$$#^" ?
edit: Although i will admit, it is quite strange how riled people can be about these 'VC packs'. Perhaps if we had Allegs crackdown on VC spam, that would help alleviate the problem to a degree until a solution can be found....
Also, if you don't want me releasing my pack, just ask, and if theres enough support behind you (or complete lack of interest), i'll gladly drop it if asked in a proper manner. The only reason i'm even making one is cause i'm bored sitting in Noat waiting for a 'non-stacked to hell' game to come along once a day.....

In the absence of an @Alleg or other admin, yes - but only after warnings have been issued and time given to comply. And it had better have been an obvious violation - it's too easy to abuse. If abused, it will be taken away. (FWIW, that's my opinion of the situation.)fuzzylunkin1 wrote:QUOTE (fuzzylunkin1 @ Jul 24 2007, 02:27 PM) I don't like spam either TB - we can boot for than, can we not?

And that is correct.
