Whenever I go to the free games section in the allegiance game, it tries to update and then it gets the following error:

CRC for PC2_019.igc did not match CRC of file with same name in FileList.txt. Perhaps FileList.txt in Lobby server's folder is different than one at FTP Site -OR- Newer file(s) have been added to FTP Site without updating FileList.txt.

I do not think it has to do with my computer itself, but I may be wrong.

Delete FileList.txt from your Allegiance directory and try updating again. If that doesn't fix it, reinstall with a freshly downloaded copy from this site.

That doesn't work, and I found out why (yes, I did try it). The game is trying to install a file that it already has installed, and that may be screwing it up. I may be wrong, but is there any way to fix this?

That shouldn't be an issue. You do have administrator privileges, right? (I'm thinking that perhaps you don't have write permission for the file(s).)

At any rate, take note of the file you think that it's trying to update, then delete it. Log back in and see if that helped. It's possible Update may do the same thing for the next file in the series (assuming there's more to update). Let us know if that's made any progress.

If not, you can always try to uninstall, then reinstall again. (reboot after the uninstall, and reboot after the reinstall - I find that helps keep Windows in 'sync' with itself.)

This doesn't work, but I found out by clicking on Update/repair critical files in the help menu, it downloads the same updates without screwing up. However, I am having a different problem (sorry for so much trouble) with another file called plus15b7.igc. It says it has an invalid signature, and now it won't even let me log in? Do you know what the problem is?(I already tried reinstalling.)

Well, if it's all working for you now, I'll close this thread. Hope you enjoy the game!

Such problems should not occur regularly. I advise you to check your harddrive integrity with a tool. You can download such software from the manufacturer of your drive. CRC errors are an indication for HDD failure.
