I'm on a Dell Inspiron 6000, and i guess many laptops use a screen sizing technique where the screen is "centered" in view. But now when i run alleg the screen is about 1/2 its normal size (1/2 width, 1/2 height) in the center of the screen at very high resolution (although its only set to 800x600, meaning its a scaling issue i think) with the rest of the screen being black border.

This condition occurs starting when alleg is run from the menu and throughout the game. Last update i noticed that it occured partially (only a bit of border) at the menu where you go to "free games" etc, and then went away in the lobby. Current update its worse obviously.

I've tried changing my resolution in windows, i can make it fill the screen but then the image is blurry. When I try anything like maintain aspect ratio its clear but there are then two black bars on the sides overlaying everything (they're covering those parts of the screen so I can't see radar icons etc unless directly ahead).

Any help for this issue?

I posed the same problem 2-3 weeks ago when having the same problem after recover my computer. My solution was video card driver upgrade (that usually come with your laptop in the package), get upgrade from internet and I actually reinstalled windows after that. I would suggest you try video care upgrade first if you do not have the upgrade yet.

Check the relevant KB article on how to get Alleg to run on widescreen.

Also, try changing your video card settings (for the LCD monitor) from "Centered timings" (or similar) to "Scale to fill" (or similar, maybe aspect). I could get you exact terms if you filled out the template.
