There is a hate-tumor growin in me for these "I should be SL of my own squad" noobs.
FE-Eagle, the GMT system is not rocket science. By doing the math from the time of your post I can tell you it was 11am- 2pm GMT. Which means total game population was below 25 and there was no point trying to play a fair game because 2 vets on each team with 6 noobs flying around them is just 4 headaches waiting to happen
I am sick of it
They often hold boob fighting competitions and battle for the coveted Golden Bra of Nippal.

But players can easily choose if they want to stay in a game, altering the win/lossKsero wrote:QUOTE (Ksero @ Apr 19 2007, 07:22 AM) But over time, the win/loss ratio should ideally converge on 1:1
For example, you join a game 20 min in. Fly around for 4 min. If you dont like it, leave, your games loss wont count for individual <5min. But if you predict 80% of winning(enemy initial cons dead, enemy miners dead), then stay and youll win with your stats count. Hence more wins, less losses.
This is why, in another thread, i point out only count stats for players who were at the start of the game. Hence for players who want there stats recorded have to risk a 50% chance of losing since they cant predict outcome at an even start. Theres where you can get 1:1 ratio
After the start, people can join with AB on keeping teams balanced*.
This will affect stackers who want to pad there stats. Stacking mid-game wont benefit. Now they risk 50% losing HELO/ELO when they want there stats count
People who just logged in and a game already started? Your stats wont count, now you can fly on the existing game without a care
People have to leave? Share timeplayed/totalgametime
AFAIK most primetime games start off with many people and latenight games start with little players. So this more effective in the primetime games where stats count should be!!

When AB will start being enforced, there will be no stacking by definition. If a stack will occur, in the longer run the system will balance itself.
If AB will be working towards keeping teams even, I do not see a reason for stats not too count for people who join mid game. If people will be joining and leaving if things look bleak for a team, well, neither team will grow in numbers. I'm not sure, but I don't think that it will be such a big issue.
Easy solution in the spirit of helo and AB: do not show rank/helo. No one will care about their rank than and helo will be just a balancing mechanism.
I don't think ranks matter much. Not displaying ranks will take a lot of stress out of the equation, and will prevent all efforts at "rank padding".
I don't see how we need leaderboard at all, but it could be organized alphabetically so that people can look up individual stats, or could be made to arrange itself upon clicking on a column. Helo ranking wouldn't be available as a column, only the regular kills/wins and so on.

I agree with DW and Greator (uh oh, listen to me -- I agree). I would suggest that it be implemented in a two step process - leave ranks run for a bit to get people used to seeing imbalance between team member numbers and understanding it a bit, then let numbers disappear so that it is not something that folks think about anymore.Greator_SST wrote:QUOTE (Greator_SST @ Apr 19 2007, 11:59 AM) ...agreed, once AB is implemented, player ranking tags can go away. It'd just be nice to know, somehow, which team we could join without having to click on all of them first.

This subject touches deep dark places. We need hip waders for this thread.
Here is the end all definition for the stack: http://www.thestack.net/
The solution lies with politcal support, not techincal!

The British are behind all stacking issues for sure, but did the Canadians conspire?

Alot of the stacking problem comes from Time Zone difficulties.
While you have your horrilbe gaming times, Euro Afternoon, its Prime time for...
East China and other East Asian countries)
Australia
Indonesia
and all others about +7-10 GMT
So while most players dont see stacking, because there lucky to be in Prime Time zones.
The people that are complaining about it happen to have there prime time stuck in your "Euro Afternoon"
